Yes, I was going to attach the image of a version with the 512 GB SSD, but it seems that they're either out of stock or there are no sales on them, probably because an update to M5 is expected this week

For those that criticize soldered ram just keep in mind that right now the text we have incentivizes soldered ram for performance issues, a lot of laptops now come with soldered ram for that same reason even PCs like the Framework does it.

if you literally don't do anything other than watch videos, read PDFs, video calls, skim a spreadsheet, then you are genuinely better off with an iPad. it's more portable, costs less, turning your display 90° to portrait mode is very useful. no downside as long as you know what you actually need a computer for.

You're right, the m4 is incredible, but /g/ is full of contrarian gnuspergs, so the very mention of apple gives them a meltie. They start grasping at straws about shit no one with a brain gives a fuck about.

There are none. But I wouldn't take 256gb ssd. On my 512gb - macos is 109,3gb total. I don't know wtf is exactly in "system data" - on work laptop it is even larger (109gb) + 29gb macos.
>System Data: Contains files that don’t fall into the categories listed here. This category primarily includes files and data used by the system, such as log files, caches, VM files and other runtime system resources. Also included are temporary files, fonts, app support files and plug-ins. You can’t manage the contents of this category. The contents are managed by macOS, and the category varies in size depending on the current state of your Mac. You can manage your data that falls outside the other categories using the Finder or the third-party apps that created it.

First here's your (you), faggot.
Second, when people argue that applel can do better it's not because they want to narrow the options to one manufacturer, it's because they want every manufacturer to expand it's options.
The limitations arbitrarily placed on applels devices are frustrating knowing that applel can actually build and offer a real computing device to satisfy would be customers.
Instead they pull some bullshit marketing to wrangle as many drooling normies into their gay overpriced ecosystem.
