They are going to loginwall the entirety of youtube and none of these alternative frontends will work anymore, at least not with an authentication cookie. DRM will be next which will be the nail in the coffin.

For the past two days, I have gotten "Sign in to confirm you're not a bot" constantly when trying to watch anything. It used to go away after an hour or two, and now it's constant
