Tablets and bt keyboards exist. Even if nobody wants to make a laptop, you'd think somebody would make a bt keyboard in a clamshell where you could snap your tablet into it. Yes I know they make folio cases but they're floppy af.

that's an 10" laptop, it's more comparable to the 2019 macbook than a viao p
the gpd pocket 4 is closer but still not quite the same form factor

problem is the battery sucks.

that’s not a use case or value. I am seriously asking. and you gave me a glib answer. the only thing I can truly think of with this thing is for word processing, in your pocket. which you can already do with a smartphone. an actual keyboard would be nice but 7inch tablets already have that. those fit in large pockets. I mean this foldable keyboard computer sony thing isn’t that far off from a logitech keys to go 2 in length

same for the PDA or Palm Pilot
I think with the increase interest in removing from being online constantly, having an e-ink display with small stylus could make a big move
>calendar
>contacts
>notes
>reading
could be peak

I want to try one of these things.
Can't justify the purchase though. I have a laptop.

GPD? Like pic related?
Dozens of other, cheaper ones?
I.e. https://x-plus.store/products/n150-netbook

Somebody could just make a universal mechanical hinge that sticks onto a floppy keyboard case with double sided tape to make it like a laptop. Szenzhen if you're reading this people will buy it if you make it.

Man that looks like crap compared to Sony's beautiful designs.
Though I'll say that I've tried one of the P Series Vaios years ago and the keyboard and mouse buttons were awful.

Light, small. But too small for comfort in real use. >>108301561
P-Series is great on specs for that time. but too small to be put on lap, too petite on table for typing, and too big for handheld use (>>108301596).
Pocket PC are e-wastes because it sacrifices too much for mere size reduction.
Looking around the journey of laptop milestone. 12-13" laptops are the king of travel PC.
personally, X270 is the best for travel companion on-the-go
>12.5" screen. Small, but not too small for eyesore for viewing from distance.
>Dual battery for maximum unplugged operation. 24wh internal + 72wh external = 96wh (closest to airline allowance). Most laptop of this size only have around 50-60wh.
>still offer full sized keyboard, with excellent typing experience.
i own the i5 one, installed windows 7 (by force), and it lasts for almost 24 hours.

the best i can think is due to japs lifestyle. Like workaholic salaryman using it while sitting inside a crowded train. However, no one in japan even do this.

UMPCs are the greatest compromise in the push towards smartphones. They're some of the coolest pieces of tech I ever used but the market didn't pounce on them so they became a niche.
It's why I liked GPD's devices (until the Win 5), since they were keeping the tradition alive.

GPD Win 5(their handheld)

Look into their other models with similar chips that are more like laptops

I bought two UMPCs and both did this:
>battery swollen
>UEFI has problems without battery but starts after 1 minute struggling
>only third world keyboard available (US)
>screen has problems because they use phone screens mounted 90 degrees wrong position
>touch screen has ghost touches and had to be disabled
>extremely loud fan that scrapes against metal parts if you move the UMPC
>85-110 Celcius and burns in your hands (also case is made from metals)
>benchmarks so good performance but in reality is actually slow
>screen is high resolution and you have to use 2x scaling to even see something
>Linux kernel didn't have matrix for your wrongly mounted screen so you had to fix it
>battery life is 1 hour when new and after 2 years it is less than 20 minutes
>usb-c only charges with 12 V which is optional in the usb-c spec so 99% of the chargers don't have that...
>display port that is out of spec and doesn't work at all
Also was baited/trolled to use (old classic and new) thinkpads and all of them was trash tier poor quality. 8/10 of those just died. Motherboards just died without any reason. Shit screens, shit battery, shit (classic and new) keyboards, shit camera, shit everything.
I learned that only thing you should use is LineageOS phone (GrapheneOS is now 100% honeypot after official Motorola thing) when you are not home, and when at home you should use desktop PC with Linux. Nobody needs laptop, Apple cuckware, pineapple or duck toy network hacker shit, UMPC or other toys. Just LineageOS, desktop Linux and OpenWrt router.

The product and price is right, but I'm sorry, until they start making laptops with mainlined chipsets, I'm never gonna buy an MNT device. There's literally no point.
ESPECIALLY considering they didn't even bother to implement sleep or proper power management, even for their weird debian fork. Like give me a break. It's a premium product that's completely ruined by a handful of half-assed choices. They're on the third laptop they've designed, and they're still making all the same mistakes.
