Even though recent CS grads have one of the highest unemployment rates (7%), they also have one of the lowest underemployment rates (19.1%), which means 73.9% of recent CS graduates (data collected in 2024) end up getting CS related jobs then, right? Doesn't this sound like the odds are in your favor then even if it may be harder to find a CS related job when compared to finding other jobs?

"CS grads"
"CS related jobs"

You could say any job involving a computer is a CS job.

You could say any college course that has a class where you use a computer is what a CS grad has taken.

You're just saying shit. And being shit.

When I was younger I didn't get why companies wouldn't hire entry level. Now that I'm a senior engineer I get it. Ive see 4 absolute retards hired by management to give me a coworker to offload some work to. Finally I get to choose and you know what? I honestly don't have the fucking patience to test out an entry level no experience fresh out of college mystery person. I'm sorry but it took 4 people and 1.5 years before they let me choose and I'm not going to fuck it up.

And yet you aren't management, and management probably earn more money than you do.

And management aren't on 4chan complaining about things, you are.

>no experience mystery person

Obviously you had to learn how to do your job so why can't somebody else also learn?
>>
Just build dashboards for the military, they always need more of those.

what? a CS grad is someone with a major is computer science.

yes of course. job FUD is completely fake lol

Jobs listing CS degrees as a requirement for the work is a CS related job. You start from the bottom (IT or whatever it might be) then you climb up the career ladder and eventually getting the good CS jobs (software engineer) while you increase your skills and knowledge in the field. Isn't this how it's suppose to be normally done? I think people are thinking that CS is dead because they're recent graduates applying for all of the good jobs like software engineering, which of course seems unrealistic since it's like trying to get into the NFL all because you learned how to catch a football.

>I don't understand how the job market can be that bad
paying someone $250k/year to perpetually update a """web app""" is infeasible unless you have access to a ~0% interest line of credit that you intend to never, ever pay back.
>>
>>108300758
>my uni ticks you got a cs related job if you work at walmart, never trust benchmarks
That shit doesn't even make sense unless you mean being a SWE at walmart, getting a retail job doesn't require a CS degree thus counts as underemployment.
>>

I can't go to college so I have no idea what "the bottom" is for me.

IT apprenticeships won't hire me

this is completely deluded IT and software engineering are different roles, you start as a software engineer to be a software engineer.

Reducing the number of people on payroll increases your profits, which makes shareholder happier. Its that simple.
Shareholders are cancer. Private companies are simply superior.

I'm sitting here in my despair looking at the locally available jobs, rejection emails from lying roastie HR whores who promise to get in touch with you, and future market predictions.

The only question I have is this. Why hasn't anyone started a decentralized movement listing high value targets (influential corpokikes) like the FBI Wanted Fugitive list? But obviously over Tor/I2P or even Lokinet
https://www.fbi.gov/wanted/fugitives

No prize money. No recognition (unless the soldier in question is planning on getting caught).
Just the warm thought of having sent a corponigger to HELL.

>this is completely deluded IT and software engineering are different roles, you start as a software engineer to be a software engineer.
Okay fine, then at least say that the SWE market is dogshit, not the overall CS market itself. People are saying the CS job market is horrible but statistics say otherwise, and I assume it's because many CS graduates are too spoiled to take on the unpopular CS jobs and instead want the trendy ones like SWE, is that about right?
>>
>>108300915
What CS jobs are you applying for that's getting you so many rejection emails?

I've been unemployed since I think 2019 and the state of the world seems so bad that I never applied to a job in all this time, I'm just living off my savings from my last job.
The idea that anyone would hire me is that unbelievable and I think it's gotten worse, not better.
I'm a decent programmer but that doesn't matter much when it comes to programming jobs so I don't even try.

Developer role
Sent two applications, got 4 interjews. What pisses me off is that I interned for one of them for 4 months only to hear there were no open 'junior' roles (what I did was well beyond junior but the dumbass whore doesn't know what she's looking at).
>inb4 only 2 niggerwtf
I'm in an area where there aren't any fucking jobs.

Enough about me I'm seriously putting the idea forth. The reason we're being fucked with is because 'people' in positions of power don't face any repercussions. Most of the rich shabbos goylems observed NPCarmageddon through the scamdemic and it's aftermath only to realize no matter how far they push us, we don't do shit.
How many CEOs have gotten killed in past years? 1. Arguably a glowop.

We need a decentralized service with a community behind this. Nothing criminal, just a bulletin board with influential corpokikes around the world filtered by country. Then our poor brethren who are otherwise KILLING THEMSELVES every day, can take these FUCKERS with them down to HELL!

Whoa, that's crazy, man. People new to the field need to be trained or something? I really don't know how we as a society got up to this point if people didn't show up with 10+ years of experience fresh from work school. It's as if they're only being taught the reusable primitives and told to synthesize when they're out in the world. Why oh why can't academia be just a work training program so employers can just, you know, make money without any effort put in?
>>
>>108300916
Everyone who does cs and doesn't want to stay in academia wants to be a SWE or MLE excluding those autistic enough to enjoy network engineer roles and such and be willing to put up with on-calls and emergencies at 4am.
It's not about trends, it is just that those are the roles that have both the big money and the work conditions that have the least chance of making you want to blow your brains out. The step down from those jobs comoared to the rest of the field is so large that the others might as well be considered underemoloyment.
>>
>>108300978
maybe try doing non-developer roles

>>
>>108300731
I'm not asking for that, but I want to see they understand the tools and keep up to date with what's rapidly changing and developing.

>>108300734
No I'm not management, I don't want to be management I turned down that chance last year instead chose to move into a senior role. Someone could learn how to do my job, but after 4 morons I don't have the patience to see if the 5th new guy is going to work out. If they don't I have to go back to management and say this isn't working and then work on a 6th, give me any incentive why I would waste my time on the noob.

>>108301125
I'm not asking for 10 years experience. The workplace isn't academia, you fuck up you risk real money and make the person who hired you look bad. When upper management finally lets you pick after the last 4 guys didn't work out, you don't prove you're right by getting a green cucumber into the role and training them on everything. You get someone with some level of experience in the tools you use, the job you do, with some self burning internal intelligence that's visible on the outside.
>>
>>108301232
>ill rape you as well dont get it fucked up

Probably why people like me don't contribute to society because you say things like that.

>>108301244
>give me any incentive why I would waste my time on the noob.

Well the options are complain to management or become management, the noobs are going to be born and come in droves regardless of if you like it or not.

"management" is such a catch all term, some managers are good, others are just smart but evil or whatever.
>>
>>108301244
>The workplace isn't academia, you fuck up you risk real money and make the person who hired you look bad.
So actually train the people who are new. And no, spending a week watching poorly made videos about company policy doesn't count as training.

>"bUt thAT CoSts mOnEY!!1"

Fucking deal with it, this is how the world works. The boomer delusion of being able to eliminate practically all costs and simultaneously maximize profits to an incredible surplus needs to be re-evaluated.

Millennials have complained about boomers killing the ladder for decades only for them to do the same thing to the zoomers at the workplace.
>>
>>108301305
You're not reading me: Fucking deal with it, boomer delusions aren't holding water anymore. No, you're not going to find experienced competent workers who will be content with starting at the bottom of the hierarchy and the pay grade. Boomers want to believe this is possible which is why they keep hiring Indians with their fake credentials and getting burned.

If companies really want experienced people in entry level positions, up the pay to match their experience at the very least.

It doesn't make sense because a lot of that data is completely made up or extremely manipulated. The Department of Labor has already been called out for procrastinating their report of the amount of jobs lost so far this year, despite them claiming that record amounts of new jobs have been created.

The truth is, yes, the job market and the economy right now is absolutely dog shit for pretty much everyone, especially if said job involves you sitting at a desk in front of a computer.
