Ignore the nitpicking misinformation posting Apple flamewar bait posting anon. The facts are available for anyone to find. Both android and ios are being held back by age verification laws. no amount of coping and lying will change this until the laws change.

Only issue with any FOSS fork of android is you'll likely no longer be able to use the original camera app which can access and use all the lenses. And no OEM ever makes drivers public to allow proper FOSS reimplementation of the camera app.
It's your only choice if you want a phone that can last longer than 5 years and no iBotnet or google botnet though.

None of what you posted production wise is true, Apple only makes 25% of it's inventory in India see >>108589515 therefore 75% is made outside of india. It's easy math. The same math also determined outta the 330 millions smartphones india produces annually only 55 million are iPhones and the rest are androids see >>108589571
Congratulations to india for being the LARGEST android smartphone manufacturer on the planet.
>>
>>108590228
>>108590242
Only apple produces their entire lineup from budget to flagship in India so they have the highest integration in the country
>>
>>108590262
Incorrect ALL iPhone soc chips are made in Taiwan by TSMC and the main board is 100% only manufacturered in China. India doesn't have the technical know how or equipment to do what TSMC does. Kek. You're posting lies and opinions without any sources or links. The scale of Indias involvement with smartphone manufacturing is the largest with Samsung. That's where the largest smartphone factory in the world is silly, the Samsung one. >>108590088 :)
>>
>>108590281
>>108590286
Why the frequent deleted posts? Nobody cares about the raw materials anon, its all about where its manufactured which is 1 out of 4 phones for Apple, from budget to flagship. That's pretty impressive, even Samsung can't claim to have the same level of integration in India.
>>
>>108590297
Fixing spelling mistakes and just because you don't care about where the materials are made doesn't make that irrelevant top kek. You have not once provided any factual information and you only post your incorrect opinions. I accept your concession and Samsung is the face of Indian smartphone manufacturing. If only 25% of Apple is made in India and 75% is elsewhere that's not a india dominant production little bro, unlike the Samsung factory in India which is making almost 50% of all Samsung's global products.
>>
>>108590326
Dude, all manufacturers get their raw materials from the same few countries like taiwan, south korea and china so its largely irrelevant. What's impressive about Apple is that they don't discriminate when it comes to India which is really cool. Diversity is truly Apple's strength.
>>
>>108590331
100% incorrect opinions aren't factual information when they have no sources or links to back them up. Too easy. The world's largest smartphone factory is in India and it makes ONLY Samsung smartphones.

You're wrong on so many levels, you gotta be either trolling or just very uninformed or just a kid. India is being used for it's extremely cheap labor almost like slaves basically to ASSEMBLE iPhones, they don't have the technical know how or supply chain to provide raw materials at such a high quality scale yet. Kek.
>>
>>108590344
>>108590359
You can deny all you want but Apple will only double down on their India strategy and it will work out for them. I wouldn't be surprised if 1 in 3 iphones are made in India by 2030.
They've handily beaten all android makers including Samsung in their India strategy.
>>
>>108590375
No facts were posted by you and instead incorrect flame bait opinions with no sources and links. I don't come here to discuss fake opinions anon sorry, here in the USA we don't gossip and make fantasy stories up about companies trying to make them look good or bad. The only good Android in terms of privacy are the Pixels, and that's if you install a custom rom (which isn't convenient at all)
Speaking of which, do we know anything about the future Motorola x Graphene phones? If I remember correctly only a couple of flagship models will support it, but they're more expensive than pixels and not even available on Amazon lol

every time I see what other companies charge and how much they offer for the price I ask myself why the hell I still use Google Fi. Poor support services, $27 monthly (bill+tax) for 0gb used and $10 for every 1gb in data. The only reason I used it was for the free foreign connectivity while I was traveling and the cell tower switching but I don't leave the house anymore and from what I understand all of the big ones hop between towers on their own now.

could someone please fucking explain what's wrong with my fold 6? the battery drain is fucking insane no matter what i do and today was the absolute worst so far. literally all i've done since the last full charge (yesterday at around this hour) was playing monster hunter now (performance profile set to light, power saving mode on, game booster set to battery saving, game was set to lowest + battery saver, 30 fps) for 1h45m and i'm already at 25% battery left. i've done literally NOTHING else, the phone was in airplane mode for 90% of the day.
battery health is 100% at 146 cycles, running the latest software ver.
hell, accubattery seems to think only i only used 37% of this charge and 10% was just FROM DEEP SLEEP. what the fuck???
>>
>>
>>108595295
i'm not sure it was entirely an update's fault desu, when i got it it was already on one ui 8 and the battery drain was already dogshit but i think it's been getting even worse with the updates from december onward
i tried to clear the cache partition but apparently samshit quite literally JUST removed that option from the recovery with the latest update from the start of march
so i guess a factory reset is the only way out
>>
>>108595295

I can find better deals on the 2025 model instead of the 2024 one because the 2026 model just came out which makes the 24 more expensive than 25. It's not logical but that's how mobile phone sales work in my market. motorola is a piece of shit when it comes to providing software updates so going with a 2024 you're only getting security updates until May 2027 and then you're end of life if a major exploit comes out compared to 2028 for the 25 model. Even then you're months behind on every cve patch so it doesn't matter really. If you're able to find a better deal on a 24 instead of 25 in your market just go for it.

Hope you don't do anything problematic like... post on 4chan or use a VPN. British police are already conducting fake traffic stops to get access to people's phones to see if they have "illegal VPN" apps installed.

anon phones aren't like computers. it's not as simple as common sense and not clicking stuff or not opening stuff. you have cellular modems and all kinds of other stuff to worry about. unless you're just using the phone in airplane mode as a handheld calculator for some reason?

A small bezel is objectively better than having a hole in your display. You wouldn't be ok with it on a television, you've been bullied into accepting it on a phone. Again, I simply have higher standards than you.

It's unreasonable because nobody's ever doing either of these again unless Apple disappears overnight or Xperia starts making a ton of money. There were at least 2 or 3 other phones with 3.5mm jacks left in the past couple years but now they're all gone because nobody bought them.
>>
>>108606524
Its not unreasonable to have standards. Just because everyone is content with worse phones doesnt mean I have to be (and I won't).
I will never ever buy a phone with an intentionally defective screen that I can't simultaneously charge and listen to music on.

The only phones that get people's attention in a good way are
>latest iPhone Pro or Pro Max
>latest Galaxy Ultra
If you just want people to ask you about your phone then you can buy a very high end chinese brand phone, so that people are confused because it looks fancy and foreign and weird, like the Xiaomi Ultra phone with the screen on the back, otherwise anything other than Sammy or Apple is liable to give people "the ick".
Hell, in some parts of the world like the US or Japan, Apple is your only option as Android phones in general give normies the ick.

why did you talk about network operators? you could have been subtly influenced into starting that conversation by ads in the first place. did you or your parents google them before or after the conversation? same with dogs. also they do advertise based on proximity and association so it's possible they picked up your location at your friends who they know has a dog.
for example someone in my neighborhood definitely has hiv or is gay because they keep showin me ads for hiv medicine.

Chink software is hit or miss so some Si/C phones will barely outpace Galaxy Ultra/iPhone battery life despite having at least a 20% larger battery, then some will outpace Galaxy Ultra/iPhone battery life enough for it to be a noticeable improvement but it takes a 40%-50% larger battery to do it. Personally my OnePlus 13 gets battery life that's more in line with what I was getting on my S23U, and that had a 20% smaller battery. I don't really play games or anything either.

If I'm buying a first iPhone, Is there any reason to NOT get the base 17?
I don't see any reason to get a better model besides the zooming camera, which might be nice (it would be nice to take picture of wildlife in my backyard, and the current 2x zoom on my Pixel is dogshit).

Be prepared for certain girls to like you because you have iMessage only to reject you because you don't have three cameras. Telephoto is amazing on any OS, and I don't mean meme 100x AI zoom. But that's not what thots are gonna care about, they just see you as poor.
Not that the regular iPhone 17 isn't MUCH better than the base 16. They finally gave it 120Hz after locking it behind the "Pro" models for years and gave it 8GB RAM for vaporware Apple Intelligence which might actually exist this year that they are paying Google to license Gemini models. Be prepared to run into headaches when you find out it isn't a true multitasking OS or if you ever try and peek outside the walled garden.

I finally managed to install Samsung's anti reflective screen protector after 4 tries on my s25 ultra and it's kinda meh. While it works as advertised in diffusing ambient lighting, the surface feel of the PET protector is a huge downgrade from my previous clear TPU protector.

>USE THESE!
none of those searches support what I want.
I want a phone without cameras, without gps(Yes, I know it's required by law in the US, but other countries manufacture phones without GPS), No Google, No Android, No Apple.
I Just want a dumb phone that makes calls and has a fucking contact list. That's it. That's all I want.
I've found one model by Nokia that supports these requirements, but it's sold out everywhere and I only find 'graal' posts on facebook and shit.
And before you ask, yes. I have drugs, drug connections, and don't want some goofy ass stingray rce bullshit. I've seen screens of Israeli technology and subterfuge. They have custom interfaces that links all your socials/numbers, and backdoors to them.

you can physically remove the cameras on older phones like the galaxy s5 which are easily taken apart since they're held together by screws
then flash lineageos and never install google mobile services

What is a good used market pixel to buy? Is the Pixel 8 decent? I cant afford anything over $350
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>108614785
the 9a is equal to the 8 in performance but has a much larger battery, slightly worse cameras and larger display bezels. it will also receive updates for 1.5 years longer since it launched 18 months later
>>
>>108614872
cool, thanks
what other models can you recommend for me to look into?
my current phone was a pixel 6pro. i do not like the curved screen edges, and i wouldnt mind a smaller phone that i can fully operate with one hand but I dont want to get a "basic" model that doesnt have 120hz screen or had its camera specs gutted
>>
>>
>>108614884
The 9A has 120hz fyi unlike older A series pixels. The non-A's main advantage is that they have much slimmer bezels which makes them way more aesthetically pleasing. But they tend to have worse battery life. The camera is also slightly worse but it has google's processing algorithm which makes pictures look great.
There's not many other pixels you can look into rn since they're all sameish. The best budget phones currently are from chink makers like xiaomi, poco, etc. that offer more hardware for your money but come at the cost of buggier software and difficulty in firmware modding due to locked bootloaders
>>
>>
>>
>>108614938
thanks for the info.
do you think its better to drop $150ish to fix my broken pixel 6 (needs a new screen, also battery and usb connector is damaged) or just buy a nib 9a for more than twice the price?
>>
>>108614992
unless you really, really like the pixel 6's hardware, i'd recommend just dropping more coin on the new phone
consider also that fixed phones will never feel like a brand new factory produced one in that the fit may be "off" due to warping of the frame from aging or thermal cycling. my old screen-replaced galaxy note5 had this weird issue with the screen having a very slight convex curve, making it impossible for tempered glass protectors to adhere to the display's surface
>>
>>108615020
>tempered glass protectors to adhere to the display's surface
for this reason I use plastic screen protectors. i get about a year out of it and for $10 i get two of them. they are easier to install and remove and they heal from basic scratches.
i am concerned with the chink quality replacement battery and the method to take the phone apart, but i am contempt with my 6 and money is a bit tight right now
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>108615866
I've also never used screen protectors and none of my phones have ever gotten scratches. Screen protectors are a meme because they really don't protect against drops like many claim they do and tempered glass on phones has been pretty resistant to scratches for a very long time.

If you don't post a screenshot of the battery health after installing the new battery I will assume 4 things having possibly happening:
1. Battery didn't properly function
2. Has lower capacity than advertised
3. It blew up and you are hopefully not hurt
4. You are kill from the battery explodering

in 10 years ive had 3 iphones and each one received unexplainable scratches on the glass. deep ones. while my regular phone which was right next it it and got used 9000% more had a screen protector that never got damaged.

Hi. I don't know much about phones. But I got this phone like 4 years ago for 200 Euro on Amazon and I think its not getting security updates anymore as it says February was the last time I got a security update. I dont really care about things like taking pictures or whatever. I just want a phone with a decent battery life and its not too expensive. The phone itself works perfectly fine right now but I feel the need to get a new one if im not getting security updates anymore.
>>
>>
>>
>>108616781
>>108616795
I'd go with Pixel 9a in that price range, basically the same as the 10a just cheaper. You can get security and OS updates for 7 years (until March 2032) and can run lots of custom ROMs even after that if you still have the device. Plus, you get access to beta and canary Android versions before anyone else, if you choose to install them.
>>
>>
>>
>>108617053
oh I was looking at prices and confused £295.49 with €360.99 (amazon co.uk vs .de)
Pixel 8a maybe? It's a step down from the 10a/9a but you still get a long support timeframe (albeit a year or two less), mostly vanilla android (aosp with Pixel stuff added), access to beta/canary, just one less year of support basically.
My 72 year old friend has this exact model and it works pretty well although sometimes he asks for tech support. Obviously not the best for gaming or photography, but sounds like you're not one to care about such things.
