i'm all for a gamedev board but it's a bit disingenuous to throw out all of graphic design because it's not as active as the general you linked which is 90% shitposting.

but isn't it a bit disingenuous to come in with an astroturfed thread saying you should take over /gd/ because it's smaller? all you'll end up doing is push the existing /gd/ into a shitpost thread because you believe numbers create superiority when it's clear from the way 4chan boards are made that that's not the case (there's tons of niche boards, and those are imo the best places on 4chan)
is the more obvious solution not to have a new board? no admin is going to look at this "movement" and see it as anything but another shitpost from agdg and the like in this case.
for your context since you asked, im the tetr.io dev so i do have an inherent bias both in not rly being a part of agdg and having a passion for UI design, but i think this doesn't nix my points. i think a gamedev board would be cool but this is not the way to do it is all
i also see the worry that as this gets ghosted by 4chan admins some nonsensical "war" between the two places will grow for literally no reason because it's the nature of shitposting to run something into the ground

In the current agdg progress posting is discouraged since the thread moves so fast that 10 people can immediately come in and push your progress out of the way with their vapid shitposting. At the very least we need a slower gamedev general somewhere that's separated from the fast-paced shitposting den /agdg/. The current agdg userbase is mostly outsiders who settled down there because of the lax attitudes towards offtopic shitposting. Any gamedev community that allows people to use it as a hangout inevitably gets taken over by offtopic shitposters who don't even belong there. That's a problem that needs to be resolved no matter if gamedev has its own board or not

I'm obviously soliciting /agdg/ to come here to support this. This isn't astroturfing. This is a show of force. Obviously our own new board would be ideal, but as other anons have mentioned, that is almost certainly not going to happen.

New board or not, /agdg/ suffers from a lack of moderation and high schizoposter count.
One of these issues needs to be solved by the migration for it to achieve anything.
