The Hoover dam took under 5 years to build
The Golden Gate bridge took a little more than 4 years to build
The entire transcontinental railroad took less than 6 years
The Pentagon took less than 3 years to build
Incompetent government retards
That's it, my educational background is in public policy
Regular people have no conception of the amount of rules, at all levels of government, that shape their lives versus the Americans who lived here in the first 140 years of American history
We dont know how many federal laws are on the books, scholars have repeatedly looked into tabulating the number of federal laws on the books and have said, this has happened multiple times over the last 30 years, that it is impossible, maybe it's 30,000 maybe it's 300,000

It took about 18 months and there was a sense of urgency and pride as the Great Depression was getting worse and people needed a symbol that things were ok. You could also get top tier labor and cut safety corners in desperate times.
When the building was finished there was no demand for office space and the city and state tried to fill it up.
The work wasn’t shoddy as it’s still beautiful today and the building was hit by a B-25 bomber in 1945 and took only superficial damage.
