I think multiple factors come into play.

1. Frog posters are annoying.
2. Pepe ran its course as a meme.
3. Matt Furie being a NFT loving faggot.

For me, my love of Pepe doesn’t come from any memes or from his infamy. I just like boys club. Honestly I couldn’t care less about the memes. The only reason I made a Pepe specific thread instead of a boys club thread is because nobody really recognizes boys club.
