Dont draw it, simple as. Kinky hair is disgusting and the people who pretend it isnt are just woketard activists. To be clear, a lil bit of a curl like an S pattern is still great for volume but Id forget about the coiled spring matted mess you have in mind, everyone and their moms are fatigued of it.

Draw straight hair instead as separate bundled -'ribbons' of hair, only do separate strands as finishing details, works great with hard contrast shading and painting the fine strands white over black.
