its slightly uncanny in a super cool way. it doesnt look like serial experiments lain but it gives off the same feeling as its atmosphere, if that makes sense at all
dont change it to look like every other trendy social media slop

It's not uncanny, you're just developing your style. Continue studying your proportions and various angles of the head until you're comfortable enough to play around with your anatomy. Whether you want to continue pushing towards realism/semi-realism or something completely different is up to you, but I think you're on the right track.

Hands aside. I feel like the general body and head structure is that of a child, but the face has the proportions of an adult's, and so it has a kind of "hyperrealistic" feel to it. Assuming you're trying to draw a child (or even a teen), and you are aiming for a more realistic feel, my guess is that the eyes are too beautified, the nose and mouth are disproportionately small, and the chin is too pointed. tl;dr "which way, Western gamer"
That being said I think it looks pretty good overall, but I feel like any style that is not immediately directed at exaggerating some overt emotional quality becomes uncanny. Like if you start with a decently drawn anime figure and try to dial in realistic details that are missing, no matter how tactfully done, you are going to get an alien, unless the proportions/eyes were somehow realism compatible and unlikely still "anime". Sometimes things are subtle like that though; not everything is blowing up some emotion to comic proportions.

>Asian girls are notorious for being uncanny.

your style is pretty bland and generic, you also have a tendency to make foreheads bigger. It's not bad, but not great as well. It's one of those posts that if it were unaccompanied by text everyone in the thread would ignore.

I would never have guessed that these were supposed to be children if the girl on the right didn't have the typical globe-shaped anime child head. The facial features aren't childlike at all. There's also room for improvement as it concerns capturing the likeness of your subjects. I only realized this was Medalist fanart after noticing Inori's hair style. I wouldn't say your art style is uncanny, per se, but I would say that it isn't attuned for drawing what you're trying to draw. If you were drawing old Asian ladies then it'd be fine.

They creep me out with their huge heads. Doug Stanhope had a joke that was about how Koreans look lik the bloated corpses of Japanese people and he's totally right. They look like insects Their heads are ginormous yet their eyes so small. Really fucks with you. If you're asian I'm sure you feel that way about another race, on the bright side I like their culture where they leave me the hell alone and don't blast music, I just don't like how they cuck themselves under the law and societal pressures, but that's just me being an American.
