In my time on this board I haven't seen any effort to organize a group class. If there are enough people in an area, I think organizing an IRL meetup to practice things that require unabashed feedback like Bargue Plates would be interesting. Art classes at regular schools are fucking expensive for what they are (women drawing pretty pictures and talking) and finding serious people makes it even pricier, sometimes around 400 dollars.
Is anyone else down with the idea?

Bleh, the smell would be vile, and likely linger around the street for weeks... and for what? The opportunity to draw naked hunchbacked, pimpled, pale, losers? I can do that by looking in the mirror. No thank you.

People find it so much easier to say "can't do it for [blah blah blah]" instead of "That sounds fun. Where are you localted?"
Pussies.
(SoCal btw)

There was no /salt/,/asg/, /dad/,OC redraw,/FYI/,/FIG/, animation general, /fag/,/cbsg/, and /cgsg/ back then. It was all consolidated to just 3 hubs pre 2016. The real problem isn't the generals it's the art community on the internet as a whole died. There are no interesting meta threads, no industry podcasts from the people at the top, no big youtubers hosting livestreams together for the community--none of that happens anymore. The biggest drama we get now is Pewpie did the thing.
Everyone is in their own bubble with their own community.

This seems unlikely. /ic/ is a slow-moving international board, probably one of your worst options for organizing local meetups. That's better suited to town facebook pages or the like. If I wanted to start something like this, I'd advertise at my library and probably the local senior center.
Still, if this were near me (and at a time I was free), I'd show up.

4chan is not a place to arrange irl meetings, you dumbfucks. What are you? fucking insane? The main function of this site is anonymity. That's the whole reason to be in this place. you come here already knowing that you will not, ever, ever, EVER want to get in contact with ANYONE here.

Pre 2020s /ic/ was at its peak. You had literal industry professionals giving out critiques and anons who were nobodies suddenly popping off and actually making it on Twitter and Patreon left and right. Post covid and ai slop killed this board. We're lucky if anyone who is actually /int/ posts or gives out critiques, or threads that aren't bitching/shilling ai or talking about some retarded e-celeb faggot they can lolcow along with their permabeg nodraw buttbuddies.

If /pol/ can have a civil meetup with a more diverse race of humans than an HR department, I think /ic/'s meetup will be just fine.
People seem to forget anons are just regular people, maybe more autistic than the average normie.

yeah can't believe they fell for going out and having a good time instead of only interacting online. its probably some kind of government honeypot when people leave the house and meet people irl. dangerous out there best to stay in.

I'm in talks with a property manager at a mall I work at to host donation-based drawing study groups out of a vacant unit there. I have 20 laptops with large Intuos tablets, paper, clipboards, pencils and B-grade computer tablets (repurposed Surface RTs) for books and reference images. I just need a projector and a few other miscellaneous things and we're good to go.
To start, to keep expectations realistic I'll be billing it as a "Student-led" class and citing Frank Frazetta's example of his own latter art school experience after the departure of his professor. I will have first timers do a 30 minute (maximum, some may refuse or give up far sooner than that) clothed figure drawing on paper so I can ascertain their current state of development and decide in which direction to take them from there. Absolute beginners will be treated as such and given very basic exercises and supplies to take home focusing on spatial relationships and manual dexterity. General studies will include Bargue plates, book draw-throughs, clothed figure drawing from photographic reference, anatomy, portraiture, perspective, and even animation in Krita.
I will be employing a large Drawpile canvas as a means to observe and engage with individuals in the class simultaneously and discretely. While I'm personally confident in certain subjects, given my own limitations this group is more of a way to keep people motivated and productive rather than with expectations of thorough hands on professional instruction, but despite that I'm confident the results are going to be strong.

Faggot this site has been infested with fucking more schizos and loons as the years have gone by. Hell this site has become so infested with fucking bot replies that its hard to tell whether your holding a conversation with a real person anymore. At least back in the years of your fucking pic the IP counter was still fucking there so you could at least make a guess of the real people in the thread.
I get that in /ic/ thats less of an issue cause you are bound to recognize certain people based on the work they put on their post but now I wouldnt even bother organizing a fucking meet up on here. Its not even so much the attitude you fucks have but rather just how tedious it all seems to be now compared to back then. Id rather just message artists on their blogs/account directly at that point

Brother whats fun about being taught by randos? Even if it was all the cream of the crop artists that posted on here they wont necessarily be good teachers. Plus figuring out an actual space and materials is a lot more trouble then its worth

I just got the key code to the unit, this is actually happening.

It is in the US, the midwest to be more precise. I will probably talk about it in more detail in Drawpile where I lurk most days-at some point. I figure I have about a month to get it all together.

This isnt the fucking "group /ic/ gangbang fuck session" anon this is the "group /ic/ classes" thread. You actually gotta fucking things through instead. You wanna be led by a fag who instead of has a lesson plan or gives insight just jerks off about the masters or something? Not to mention again just having a fucking dedicated space. The only anon who seems to have some fucking idea is this fag >>7884877 and god bless, but I dont see any other fag pitching their ideas, and I dont blame em cause it takes fucking work and time. The other anon I mentioned probably had this idea stirrin for a while, this isnt something you can pull off impromptu. The only thing you can do thats spur of the moment is a meetup and no anon I dont want to fuck you in the ass no matter how much you insist I need to lighten up :)

I do have an idea, faggot. It's literally as simple as meeting up, and learning from a course together like a classroom style environment. We could start with draw a box and do studies on Pinterest or anything like that. The fact you couldn't even figure this out is incredible and I pray you will survive with such a low IQ.
