What would you do if one day you were kidnapped, taken to a city forgotten by God, and forced to race in the most dangerous, brutal, and degenerate festival in the world—where rules do not exist, and every race is not a competition but a war, where not even being the fastest would guarantee your victory?
Welp, i´m not finished yet, so go play Motorstorm and you will get the idea

it's not about detail, it's about noise
more detail makes the noise worse because you can't tell what the fuck you're looking at
ink like a normal person, drop the aliasing
>le it needs to look like shit
fuck off, retard

Cringe. Hard pixel lines aren't going to be hiding anything, retard. As a matter of fact, aliased lines are by definition kind of the diametric opposite of "noisy", so you're not only a faggot, you're also completely factually incorrect. The OP image is aliased too and that has proper lineweight.
One thing to take away from this, though, OP- you're going to need to export your images in a lossless format, because jpeg artifacts really mess with hard lines and solid colors.

i really don't mind desu, i like the low quality and imperfection
my very first digital drawings used to look like shit to, though i improved with time. i never got used to higher resolutions, so i recently decided to embrace the Game Boy ass image quality

There's a difference between hard crisp lines and aliasing, retard. Aliasing is by definition noise distortion, literally the same as "jpeg artifacts", you worthless dumb nigger. It's not actual pixel input, it's a meme brush mapping to arbitrary blocks which is why it looks like SHIT

Even so, the brush still behaves like a hard pixel brush and thus still doesn't obfuscate anything. Your complaints are those of visual fidelity, not the brush itself being a crutch to hide a lack of linework skill.

I'm sure you probably watch anime, and are probably on your hundredth school setting harem slop, or is it your isekai slop, etc. etc. all while unironically typing that comment.
Originality or quality, to a lot of you faggots, means a 'made in japan' tag.
That aside, the idea of a race where you kill each other is cool, and can be done in plenty of different ways. Is Twisted Metal and Carmageddon also Death Race rip offs?.. well, maybe they are actually are?... anyway, my point still stands.
>>
>>7889767
NTA, but I don't know if the same people watching modern isekai anime and the people who know old Roger Corman films have to a ton of crossover. You could have called out horror slasher flicks, that would have hit where it hurts.
The death race concept is just enough of a thing where the influences are known, but it's not enough of a thing where no one bats an eye at yet another one to add to the pile. OP should just do it, if it's good it'll shut us boomers up.

Yeah, but it inherently attracts the kind of people (me). What can't help but point out, "THIS IS LIKE X, AND Y, WITH A LITTLE BIT OF Z ADDED IN", just ignore us. We don't get to talk to people about our interests often so we sperg out when presented with the opportunity.

I always thought creatives crying about such comments were being kind of stupid.
One, you have people sincerely engaging with your work.
Two, If they accurately guessed the influences, shouldn't you be happy that you're emulating them so well?
Three, if they're wrong and had never heard of those things, shouldn't you be happy to see what they're talking about, as a possible reference for your work going forward?
Or, if they annoy you, just scroll past them. Most comment are vapid, empty, basically overdone memes, at this point. Just scroll past them.
>>
Don't depreciate yourself that much OP, just try following the advice above as rule of thumb when making this comic
DESU, if an anon wants to give a sincere critique of your work, they wouldn't be throwing out buzzwords and slurs.

meh, i really don't care about that kind of comments, because being "original" is like trying to invent a new color
the only way of making something "original" is taking an existing concept and adding your own twist and style
(and yeah, I literally described what's the meaning of inspiration and why genres in media exists)
