2. Keep it to 2D Anime/Cartoon characters only. Do not post chiId photo references (legal or otherwise), and do not talk about issues regarding real children.

The render of the background is also bad, but I don't know how to draw the wood texture so I drew square shapes instead

I think this would look better if the head and body matched. Right now, the head looks like it was pasted from a completely different drawing, primarily because the line weight is so heavy. Another contributing factor is that everything below the neck is detailed in a way that isn't consistent with the detail of the head. I'd expect the hair to be less cartoony. I'm not referring to the style of the hair but rather how its form is so simple. If you want examples of how outlandish hair designs can be executed properly in a drawing that intends to be realistic, look at Pokemon fanart like picrel.

I know what you mean. I have thought what details I could add to her hair without overdoing it. I could maybe draw her hair strands and add more shading, but then her hair would look dark when she is supposed to have light grey hair and doing that much detailing would make it seem really cluttered.
Thank you for the help, I'll have a look :D

My existential enemy is the JAP_ETHOS, and its WHORES: the pathetic westoids subjugated to the whims of a remote island.
Can you even fart without paying eternal tribute to the standards imposed by the 'yellow royalty'?
That is why I am trying to develop a SOVEREIGN stylistic framework that, unlike the failed western canon, is biformally balanced [aesthetic].
Of course, people without the capacity for projection will only see crooked pixels, but 'clumsiness' is the price of attempting new things.

The feeling is mutual. To me, you are profoundly incomprehensible... How can individuals with genuine talent succumb without much resistance to the will of a foreign society?
I suppose it is oversocialization and overstimulation [factors that I personally try to keep out of my organis͠mind].
Each nation should have its own NON-TRIVIAL complex͠popular +arthos rather than merely being the anomaly of some remote island.
To be honest, south_koreans are the only ones who seem to get my point, perhaps because of their historical resentment or something like that.

I think this is the worst possible example you could've used considering that South Korean media incorporates the worst of American and Japanese media. Gaudy and secular like American media with a poorly-imitated anime art style.

In my case, if I fail [which would only be possible in the event of an unexpected death], it will have been after fighting with dignity. On the other hand, what will your 'legacy' be [if you’re an artist]? To be a whore for an indifferent ethos, trading your soul for scraps? I mean, after all the creative output in these threads, the only ones who win long-term in terms of soft power are the japanese. But of course, since you are their globohomo whores, you don’t care. You only care about ephemeral materialism [likes, financial gain]; transcendent dynamics like SINCERITY, POTENTIALITY or BROTHERHOOD disgust you.
« Hail our yellow overlords... »
« Hail their craftsmanship and otherworldly creativity... »
« Please, inspire us. Us filthy 'gaijins'... »
How pathetic.
>>7887440
Yes, and that’s why golden age animation was a perfect ROOT to build something equal to or better than modern anime/tezukism. But in diverse societies, with low ethnic homogeneity, it’s impossible to CULTIVATE long-term patterns. There’s no tacit cooperation [have you seen how the japs organically reuse the same tropes?], and self-nullification occurs from an excess of freedom. That’s why I created the concept of +ARTIFICIAL_ARTHOS 'anchored' in a manifesto.
>The West has created countless styles.
I’m talking about HOLISTIC stylistic approaches that appeal to complexity and simplicity simultaneously. Not unbalanced approaches. That is the root of the power of the jap ethos; if you understand this ontological principle, you can employ it to defeat that ethos.
Picrel: I don’t know... I was watching Nesthäkchen and thought that an image of the cute Annemarie would look nice as decoration.

I can understand your desire to create an artistic paradigm to rival that of the Japanese, but I disagree with you on two fronts. Firstly, I don't think anything's wrong with following in the footsteps of the Japanese. Secondly, I don't think a manufactured paradigm - even if anchored in a manifesto - is going to work out well for you. It took the Japanese decades to shape their art style into what it is today, with the extinction of unappealing elements and introduction of appealing elements occurring gradually and implicitly rather than guided by a single source of truth. I'm also fairly confident that even if you were able to quantify appeal, you'd settle on something approaching what the Japanese already have.
>>
>>
>>7887485
Blue Archive is a strong point against schizoanon's argument, though. It's altogether indistinguishable from a Japanese product. South Korea has no notable artistic exports. Even manhwa is riding on the coattails of manga.

>Jap influence
My animosity toward the japanese is somewhat exaggerated. I’m probably one of the anons who respects them the most. But I also respect my own integrity and self-determination. To be honest, I mostly hate the WEEBS and their deafening adulations that treat bifurcations as an end in themselves.
>the impossibility of the success of an artificial paradigm
I agree that cultivating stylistic patterns in an organic and social context is usually extremely slow. How many permutative generations [decades] did it take for Tezukism/anime to reach its modern state? But there is a factor you are not considering: ‘theoretical_creativity’: a theoretical framework I am developing whose purpose is the rigorous axiomatization of the currently elusive phenomenological-aesthetic dynamics, all for the sake of scalability and optimization. In theory, if you understand how the rendering atoms [or 'biforms', in my terminology] propagate in an arbitrary discrete entropic context, and how these 'fluctuations' relate to congenital aesthetic structures, you can enormously accelerate the development of permutative generations.

>koreans
Creatively speaking, in the world there are only two categories of individuals who 'unsettle' me: Chris Ware and [some] south_koreans. Personally, I think the latter, at the individual level, are driven by an extremely visceral force of RESENTMENT, a need to differentiate themselves from their historical enemies. This makes them pursue unusual stylistic permutations, and sometimes they manage to harmonize the mix of eastern and western sensibilities very efficiently. The point is, this individual-level force[[ not the one at the top [which I agree is currently just a bad japanese copy] ]] is not channeled, but that could change in the short term. I’m not exaggerating: if the west doesn’t do something in the next 20 years, they will become the new de facto internet style, replacing the japanese.

The spheres that are used to know long and where to draw the straight lines, help keep proportions and help you visualize the skull, serve no actual purpose?
>she doesn't follow them in any way.
Except they are followed in the image. What do you mean? The only reason I can think of, for you to genuinely say that, would be that you believe the "guides" need to be followed very closely, like tracing the guides, instead of using them as just "guides" that give you information about where to start and end the lineart.

The problem is that it over complicates the process from the get go, and while the process might make sense to the artist who made the tutorial cause they already built up a habit after how many years, to a noob it reads at nonsense.
Guidelines are building blocks, and when ut comes to drawing the human head, there are two basic components that must be laid out first before you add any other fucking details can be determined:The cranium and the jaw. These are the basic parts of the skull, and determine where you put all your other marks. How you draw those two components from the get go determines where you put your guides for your eyes, the ears, eyebrows, lips, etc
It is much easier to determine from the get go if you are in the right path in your drawing if you lock down those two features. If you draw the chin relatively small compared to the cranium, it appears more like a child, if you make the jaw a little bigger, it may be appear like a teens head, draw it a little bigger and more wider, it'll appear like a grown man/woman
Also depending on what character you want to draw, the placement of your eyes can vary. Like in my pic related for the younger looking character I drew the eyeline low to make it look child like, but if I kept the headshape the same but moved the eyeline up slightly? It would look less like a child character but more in line with those moe characters like from KyotoAni.
Its much more easier for a beginner if you think about
1.Head
2.Centerline(that determines where the head is facing: front/side profile/at an angle
3.Jaw
and from there determine where you want to place the eyes/nose/etc depending on how you want the character to look, cause the typical anatomical answer for like the eyeline is halfway from the top of the head to the bottom of the chin but you can lower it or bring it up depending on what is more pleasing
>>
File: casy_edit.jpg (310.2 KB)
310.2 KB JPG
>>7888999
>>7889167
Another problem with the method presented is that once you start increasing the skull or drawing the jaw at the end, it actually fucks up the proportions you supposedly planned ahead of time. Like Ive seen Casy's drawings they are not usually this elongated. I made an edit of where her proportions typically are, but they came out elongated precisely because they decided to lock in the eye placement of the eyes and the eyebrows shit before determing what the shape of the skull actually is gonna end up being. Like the 3/4 drawing and the front view does not match proportionally
Also Hat Kid itself is a bad example to use cause the cranium is obscured by the fucking cap.
Again you can tell if a drawing is either gonna be good or bad really fucking early if you lock in key details first. If you change the fucking cranium or chin all the way at the end it throws shit off
Again, it goes Head/Cranium, center line, and jaw. Its not that fucking complicated

Curious on what you guys think, do you guys consider pic related as loli? Been seeing some discussion on what actually counts as loli, I’ve seen people say that even if technically they’re underage they have to have a specific look, something more like in OP’s pic.
>>
>>
>>
>>7889692
That's a hebe, but these distinctions are only made by the lolicon community. Normalfags consider your pic and anyone under 18, like Uzaki and Nagatoro to be loli, and the cutoff keeps increasing every year.
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>7889692
Chinatsu is as loli as Tatsumaki. The body type is pubescent, but small, slender, with a flat chest. Wide hips are optional. There are adult women with this body type, but it's a body type more associated with pubescent girls. So it's loli in the expansive sense, but if you're restricting loli to just prepubescent, then no.
>>
>>7889848
Forums (with all the mods/projects) are going poof. Registrations are closed, so if you don't have an account already it's too late to back things up. The ATFbooru is apparently going to be taken over by the catbox guy, but considering how catbox has been shitting itself lately, I doubt it's going to last long.
>>
>>7889692
It's safe to call a character a loli if it's physically indistinguishable from what you'd expect an underage character to be depicted. Sunna counts because, like Tatsumaki, she has a childlike build.
I'm usually not comfortable relying on my own judgement when classifying characters as lolis or not since westerners lack proper context for this inextricably foreign concept (the worst of which push terms like hebe to cope with their inadequacy), but my findings suggest that not even Japan can decide when it comes to Sunna.
>>
>>
>>
>>7889907 (Me)
Also I should warn you that there's nothing to be gained by associating with western elitists who insist that lolis have to have to be sexless like the OP pic, as if to say that lolicon is a strictly pedophilic pursuit. This is an idea exclusively foreign to Japan. If you want a good idea of the Platonic ideal of a loli, your best bet would be considering characters from the lolicon movement, like Lum from Urusei Yatsura, Clarisse from Lupin, Frau Bow from Gundam, and the stuff that Hideo Azuma drew.
>>

That was a dumbass claim you replied to. Any kind of time spent drawing isn't wasted time. Worst case scenario you're improving your hand to eye coordination. Best case some shit can click and you have a leap in improvement.
It's better to follow a training routine though. That's definitely true.

Wiat what?
So you are supposed to draw the skull completely and then the features?
>>
>>
>>7889994
Naw it was because Sunna got a lot of attention, there were loli characters before here but didn’t really have that much focus, in fact ZZZ mostly catered to the big titty, huge ass and wide hips girl crowd for a year. The normalfags couldn’t handle that not being in the spotlight for once.

Not sure if this is bait but I'll give an earnest response.
The focus is the cranium, centerline, and jaw. In the examples that I drew you can see the cranium represented as a basic circle(more of a wider oval for the profile) and the red line that represents the jaw. I also drew smaller simplified versions that only contain the cranium(blue circle), the centerline, and the jaw(represented by the red line)
That is a simple representation of the skull, which is important to lock down cause from their you determine shit just like where you place the eyeline, then the nose, then the mouth, ears, etc. You dont need to draw the ACTUAL skull, I just drew it so you know what I was talking about. If you need me to simplify it here are more simple drawings that show what you need.
Its basically a sphere(cranium), center line, and a line representing the jaw. I even show an example where you can make the jaw really small, this shit can vary depending on age/character design/ etc.

And in case it isnt clear in my developed drawing, here is a drawing based on the Casy tutorial but with the more simple method.
No need to bullshit the jaw at the end or elongate the fucking cranium when you draw those things from the get go

First time posting here. I just got kicked out of a /b/ thread and directed here. I'm not sure this is the right thread for what I wanna ask, either.
I'm thinking maybe you knew him. Maybe he posted here too.
You guys know the artist known as Graveyard Guy?
He used to be a /co/ drawfriend until something tragic happened in his family.
This is one of the main characters from a book that he wrote:

>Why did you get kicked out of /b/
Well, "kicked out" is an exageration, but I asked in the loli thread whether or not they have drawfriends who could maybe draw these characters, and someone told me to not be annoying and instead come here.
I only asked them because a few days ago I saw his friend Editor Anon share the first chapter of his book there.
>Also Graveyard Guy was awesome, but he never posted here
I hear he was pretty chill, people clearly liked him a lot.
It's pretty tragic that his older sister won't make it (at least it seems to be unlikely, for what Editor Anon days), and I'm sad that I never got to talk to him. I only got to know of him after he had left the internet.

What kind of art?
Well, any, to be honest. As you said, they're cute. The thing is, the Anon editing the book is probably gonna do a good job, but he said that it's gonna take a lot of time.
After that, Graveyard Guy has said that he wants to return when he feels up to it, and then make the book into a comic, and that's really gonna take long. I'm OK with waiting, but I wanna see more of the characters as we wait.
Of course, GG's well being is priority. I don't wanna sound like I want to see he return just so we can see the book as a comic.
I've read what people have said (those who have read select chapter), the bios of the characters, and also I read chapter one (partially edited). I couldn't help to fall in love with the characters, so I wanna see morebas we wait, in any style or level of safe-for-workness.

GG wrote and illustrated a short book (18 chapters, I think) called Cherry Pink. The adventures of there very different girls working in a certain video industry. It's a fantasy world where such things are legal, and wanted to eventually make it into a comic.
Shared some select chapters on Baraag (now deleted, so I haven't seen them) which based on the reviews, we're pretty great.
But then, as he was correcting the thing and editing it, tragedy struck. So he abandoned it in order to focus on his family.
But an Anon convinced him to not delete it, and that Anon became the editor. He is currently working on finishing it.
He shared chapter 1 on /co/, with some illustrations and editor notes. He said he chosen to share it "caveman style" (meaning, as photographs and with hand written notes) so no one could mistake it for the final version.
Too bad the illustrations contained in these pages are pixelated, but I guess that has to be done for a blue board like /co/...

>currently on hiatus because of personal issues
He also became somewhat paranoid over the legality of loli content on Italy.
Probably not justified, but he typed this as he was dealing with the news that his sister is gonna have to have both legs amputated in order to make her chances go from zero, to slightly above zero.
So, sane or not, I cut him miles of slack. I don't blame him for not thinking straight.

If you wanna be strict no she doesn't count, he body and proportions are way too tall: lolis should be up to middle school/13 years
However if you wanna be loose with the definition she does have kind of a loli aesthetic and wears a randoseru so you'll see people calling her a loli: this split over the definition exists both in the western and Japanese communities, it's not uncommon to see Japanese using the term loli loosely
Hebe is a stupid 4chan term it doesn't mean anything, because most actual lolis fall in the 9-13 age range which is early pubescence so they'd be hebe already

Yeah. Faces makes sense, but like the times where you see someone from below fully is just so rare compared to the times you see people in level and above in just your regular daily life. I've wanted to draw poses from below and I've come to realize how difficult it is to come up with interesting poses that would look better drawn from below than it would from above, level or etc.

I would say most poses from below are either just explicit porn shots with girls laying somewhere or leaning back, creepshots with extreme angled, or it's used to make something look bigger and intimidating or a big massive structure, etc.
>>
Question: are lolis mostly drawn with realistic head/bidy ratio or do they usually have bigger heads? I just studied this again but only with photos. Usually girls are 5,3 - 4 heads tall, but i'm not sure if manga artists do this differently.
>>
>>
>>7890337
I don't know but I think they do have bigger heads in general, especially the younger they are. It depends on art style and stylization as the other anon said.
>I just studied this again but only with photos.
Photos of anime lolis or photos of real girls? Where/how did you get them?

On a different note: Can it be that my twitter is shadowbanned or something? I just tried to log in and before that i just saw my twitter page as a guest and it said i didnt post anything yet? Is this just a page loading error or can guests not see my posts?

Then the question is why did that site say i'm ghostbanned? What does it mean? Maybe if you already have my name then you can see me, but i dont show up in the search engine and can't reply to people who don't follow me? I'm confused...

I have the same ban as you. I think you shouldn't care, because nobody will find your art anyway, the algorithm is turned off if you're just a 10followers artist.

I need to post hardcore porn and stuff like that.
what can I post then? I've seen popular non-lolicon artists with search bans, some of them are fine, how does it work?

No, I have to draw more lines. Videogames are not fullfilling at all. When you are done with a game, you are just happy for a short time that it's finally over. Drawing is the only thing I have which makes me somewhat happier, but it requires so much work and patience.
>>
>>
>>7890722
No, I just have accept the pain and draw with it. Now I finally have internet again and can share my drawings with my online friends! That's great! Drawing is a bit tedious but it's also exciting to see your work taking on forms.
>>
>>7890722
I mean, I like games, don't get me wrong. When I had no internet I played a lot of Napple Tale and Battle Garegga (with Chitta of course!), I also played Skyrim, but that game destroyed my Steam Deck. Somehow doesn't work anymore after I played it a lot.
Games are fun, but for me at least it is just that. Napple Tale was really cute. Kind of like Alice in Wonderland (which is what I'm reading for the first time atm). Can recommend! I now have to draw more tho.

Damn, man. Society has gone from childfree and antinatalist to completely anti-children. It HATES children with a passion.

I see what you mean. I think her neck should have been maybe 1/3 slimmer.
I know I messed up with the broom a bit, but I still wanted to try to make the pose I had drawn work, so the broom is now kind of resting against her head or ear instead.
I still haven't really drawn her feet that much, as she has usually worn her boots until recently. She is wearing socks but it's a bit difficult to make it look so. Thank you for the help

I try not to give unwanted critique or advice because I think that's fucking annoying. At least when people do IRL it is. Here I am not too sure, I mean the biard is called /critique, so... idk i only try to do it when people ask for ot
>>
>>
>>
>>7892569
You got kinda misled. Using hotspot on your phone doesn't really damage your phone. it just kinda makes the battery run out faster. I've been using my phone to provide 5G internet to all my devices for about 4 years now and I'm yet to see any actual noticeable change in the battery life from when I first got the phone
>>
>>7892579
Yea, I was already thinking they just wanted me to pay more money. My phone is already older tho (it was a gift) and the battery already runs out super fast, so I don't think it would be too good to use it for that. I also never used a smartphone tho and had no idea how internet on it even works, so I just agreed to a wifi.
I'm also not sure about anonymity on phone internet tho. I think that's better on wifi? Also when you use unlimited internet on phone I read it also costs like 50 bucks anyway (which is what my deal wifi + 10 GB of phone net) costs, so I really wasn't sure what to take.
>>
>>7892584
Unlimited data really is unlimited data without any extra costs no matter how much data you use. In the current day just about every plan is unlimited, them being limited data is something that pretty much got phased out in the 2010s and isn't really a thing anymore. How old are you if you've never used smartphones?
Also I feel like the 10gb phone net most likely means "EU roaming data" that you could use in other eu counties if you visit them. Unless you got some extremely cheapskate plan...
>>
>>7892589
I know that unlimited data is unlimited. But you have to pay monthly for the contract too and I read that is pretty expensive too, but not sure.
My brother also has a limited contract so i wouldnt say it is that rare.
I am already old enough, I just never saw a readon to buy a smartphone. They are not cheap and I already had wifi internet at home.
>>
>>
>>
>>7892589
“Unlimited” because 90% of people won’t exceed their phone data plans each month. I’m pretty sure they still throttle your speed after the overage but maybe that’s no longer the case for some carriers?
I know with home internet I easily exceed 1TB data cap every month which is why I have the best plan money can buy with a truly unlimited amount of data.
