Hi, any experts on acrylic painting pls help me understand what went wrong with my painting?
Left is mine, Right is original
I feel like I simply cant get the right texture for leaves and grass. It seems mushy in my painting whereas in the original it's crisp and clear
I feel like the highlights on the tree trunks and shadows for the trees on the ground are kind of messed up as well

Look at this fucking anon, he came here, and actually posted HIS OWN ART!
What a fucking loser!
It is a bit mushy, you need to practice more. And look at how the guy from the vid added some fine details at the end.
Also, a very important part is lighting and color-correction to sell your art. Yours looks flat, because you just took a photo and uploaded it. The guy who made that tutorial runs it through a ton of color-correction and filters in whatever video editing program he's using.,

You leaned too much into the cold yellows which teeter on green, while on the right heavy use of warm yellows. Also your trees lean heavy on black and white, while on the rights the shadows have muted yellow browns mixed in
The grass are on the bottom (which I actually like more then right in some aspects btw the green actually works here)is too blended. The flowers/grassy areas are clear dabs of paint, those small dots of red yellow and white were layed thick on the right. Also the shadow should point more towards the right and be a lil darker.
Biggest sin though is the top. Its too orange, theres no clear yellows there. Also the sky should lean heavy white blue, emphasis on white

How come whenever i try to apply a layer of paint to make leavs/grass, it becomes mushy and blends from the background? I can never get a nice crisp amount of paint to just stick to the canvas.
If i lightly tap, no paint is applied. i have to repeatedly tap, and then it turns mushy. Idk what im doing wrong

Oh shi i see you upped the contrast on my painting.
Yeah I dont really mind the washed out "vintage" look on my art at all. So it's not about the colors for me, it's more about the technique, like why everything looks muddy and mushy

Here's the tutorial with the contrast lowered, to match what it probably looked like IRL for him.
It still looks better than mine from a technical perspective i think
