I wish I could be a 19th/early 20th century sailor and have bastard children all all around different port towns.

I wish I was a sailor or a pilot. Sadly I was born in a city called Boat (Łódź) that has 0 bodies of water.

Chciałem być marynarzem...
Chciałem mieć tatuaże
Podróżować zwiedzać świat...
Pięknie żyć garściami życie brać

being a sailor seems like a cool job

You could still become a pilot. Just need someone willing to give you a small loan of 50.000+€. If the burgers can do it for university, you can do it for pilot training. Thomas Salme even did it without.

I was thinking more in the military, but I might be getting too old at 28 for them to consider me.

I don't think most people get to fly the planes in the military, and everyone I have ever known who has joined the navy has made it sound horrible.
Less horrible than getting blown up by a grenade dropped on my head while huddling in a trench, but only just.

For a sailor it's always a bother in life
It's so lonesome by night and day
That he longs for the shore and a pretty young whore
Who will melt all his troubles away
Oh, the noise and the rout swillin' poitín and stout
For him soon is done and over
Of the love of a maid, he is never afraid
An old salt from the Irish Rover
