I actually make heavy use of quicksync at work because of video streams that need deinterlacing. The results aren't that bad. Some actual advice if you want to stream games is that if you're not a Twitch partner they will not transcode your streams, meaning cranking up the bitrate to cope will fuck anyone trying to watch on mobile data. YouTube is a better option if you're going to output a high bitrate hardware encoded stream.
