Haven't posted here in a while, but recently I have had a fascination with a weird goal I've come up with for myself. I want to be able to communicate to any speaker of any romance or slavic language, because in general I have had good experiences with people from those backgrounds both online and irl, even though at first glance they seem like they'd be complete opposites. Additionally, within each of these two groups, it seems the languages themselves have a lot in common with one another, which would transfer great when trying to learn multiples of them; just learning one already gives you a huge foundation and basis to work with for the others, which will only build up with the more of them you learn. Yes, I realize this is highly autistic, but I think it's achievable (and fun) as a very long term goal to work towards.

Learn portuguese first, you'll have a better experience with native speakers than spanish which you can learn in a week after learning portuguese. Then go for french which is the hardest of the romance languages, but if you already have a good foundations in the other too plus english you can learn french in a year, maybe less. Italiano is boring and useless.
