This thread is for the discussion of anison (anime song), the genre of music made specifically for anime. Whether it be dedicated anime singers, voice actors, idols, as long as the song was made for an anime, it belongs here. Discuss your favorite anison artists and anime songs, and share your events and experiences!

Discussion of doujin music, anikura, idols, seiyuu (outside of their music careers), and mainstream Japanese artists go in their respective threads.

Speaking of her, I just realized that she's celebrating 30 years of her anisong career, and released bunch of her old MV, so that's nice
>>
>>50645823
Has it really been that long? Wow. Then again, she did debut as a kid. It's rare these days for Japanese artists who debuted that young to last this long, especially in anison.
>>
Why can't more anison artists do arena tours in Japan?
>>
>>50646523
It helps that she's a top tier VA, which just gives her more opportunities.

>>50647792
Because most don't sell out. Only brand names like JAM Project or LiSA sells out their shows.
>>
Reminder now that anime is mainstream old anison singers were pushed out of anime to make way for popular pop artists who dont give a fuck about anime
>>
>>50648030
Crazy to think that Konomi hasn't had a solo arena concert since her 20th birthday concert almost ten years ago, and that wasn't even an actual arena like the Yokohama Arena but rather Makuhari Messe's arena (capacity 9,000+).

>>50648406
It fucking sucks man. Anison artists need more exposure and jobs, not less.
>>
>>50647792
Are you insane? The number of anison acts (not counting 2.5d idol groups) who has done arena tours is probably not even double digits
>>
>>50648814
There has to be a way to make anison, or at least anison artists, less niche in Japan.
>>
They should have anison singers singing for big-name shows instead of mainstream artists.
>>
Noticed that a bunch of old anime songs have only been added to streaming lately.
>>
>>50654213
Any notable title? I only saw the old Bakusou Kyoudai soundtrack being added to celebrate their 30 years anniversary of the anime
>>
>>50654243
I just noticed that most of Ayukawa Mami's songs got uploaded in the past 2 years.

Yet for some reason, neither Hyouka ED nor any of the Chuu2 EDs are on streaming yet. Not sure what is going on since ChouCho and ZAQ's songs have been available for ages.
>>
>>50656346
I don't think early 2010's KyoAni catalogue musics are completely available. Nichijou and Chuu2 got all of the openings but not of the endings, while Free! and KnK got all of them.
I think Hyouka got the worst of it just because they only have OP1 available on DSP. That was also exarcebated with how their OST was distributed in fucking eleven special CD that includes their radio shows.
Nichijou also suffers from this as well, and IIRC they're in worse position because it's also split between radio shows, charasongs, and the actual OST CDs.

>I don't think early 2010's KyoAni catalogue musics are completely available.
Exactly. It confuses me since I don't know if it's a label issue or an artist issue. It's not like Lantis hates streaming because virtually all of their newer stuff is on streaming just fine. One thing I did notice is that, for those older works, those by solo anison singers tend to be on streaming, but those by the seiyuu in-character tend not to be (hence the lack of Chuu2 and Hyouka EDs).

Interesting she says it’s to preemptively protect her voice
>>
>>50657845
She lasted quite a while. The, I can recognize a bunch of characters she voiced, but I can't remember any of her songs.

I liked the song she did for Koisuru Asteroid.

I'm surprised that Konomi hasn't had a Budokan live yet after all this time.

Blame her label, not her. She is Legend is also doing just fine, and ever since they moved her releases to be digital-only she's been doing well enough in frequently being invited to events and having a healthy amount of solo lives.

I know we're at the point where mainstream artists doing anime OPs and EDs is frowned upon, but it was cool when TMR did it at his peak.
>>
>>50675656
It's simple, we just had better producers and musicians back then. Nowadyas it's all over-produced electronic garbage
>>
I like her new toku song

Do you think she's hairy down there? Her husband is so lucky.

>>50675733
It was better when they would make songs that sounded like anime songs, instead of creating songs that just happened to be made for anime.

Kinda funny that both of those series' latter (final?) season OPs were sung by Kageyama, but I guess that's just the power of Anison Prince

She quit being EXiNA a few years ago
>>
>>50701119
She hasn't been able to make good songs since she changed her name back to Siena Nishizawa.
>>
I'm so confused as to why most of Iguchi's songs are still not on streaming outside of Japan, but not other artists like Sajou no Hana.

>>50701143
She was, and still is, really talented. It sucks she had to waste part of her career as EXiNA because she was doing okay (if not spectacularly) before her rebrand. That time derailed her and she never recovered.
>>
>All of the 5Toubun no Hanayome songs have been on streaming since forever
>Bokuben Study songs are STILL not on streaming, even in Japan, only S2's ED is on streaming
I know I've said it before but I really want to know why. I've noticed that, for some reason, anime songs by the cast seem to be more likely to not be on streaming than songs by regular artists. Is there a reason behind that?

You fags heard anything about this year's anisama yet? They've been dead silent, are they waiting for last years blurays to drop before announcing the line up?
>>
>>50701355
check who owns the rights of the works you notice aren't available and some of the names or the companies in the committees, you will find a pattern, hell might even ask some retarded AI for it but i doubt they'll be accurate
Wasn't Study a bust that went nowhere?
>>
>>50709171
Study was always intended to be a one-and-done for the series. They were no Earphones or Sweet Arms that outlasted their original show.

>you will find a pattern
I have, but even then the pattern is inconsistent. It's less "specific companies don't like streaming" and more "these artists not on streaming just happen to be with these labels, but not everyone in that label is the same." For example, all the Hyouka songs are Lantis, and only ChouCho's OP is on streaming while the others aren't. However, Lantis stuff is generally on streaming. Similarly, you have artists like Yuka Iguchi or Kanon Wakeshima, who were with Warner at the time, not being on streaming, yet ALTIMA is available just fine. It's not even series consistent: Iguchi's Danmachi songs are still unavailable, but Sajou no Hana's songs are, despite all being released under Warner.
