Not going into detail as I'm on the move and phoneposting, but I'll give you the gist. One of them was a dream spirit akin to Doremy, who was based on a dream creature from Scandinavian folklore. The other was a malicious Western-style witch (as its own separate species from magicians) with curse powers.
The third one was a Confucian scholar I made as a religious rival to the four, who was kinda based on Yamazaki Ansai's Confucian shinto. Alongside her, I made a fourth character, who was kinda like a denglong protecting the Confucian temple, who in turn was based on Yayue musicians.

No but I often feel like the Koakuma I draw is like an OC.

Years ago I dreamed up a touhou fighting game that I will realistically never ever make. A new character I came up with for it was a land kappa with a Metal Slug inspired moveset. At first I thought about Nitori but going all out with guns doesn’t really fit her, nor does it fit Takane whose spellcards are more about sneaking through brush. So a new character made sense for the moveset ideas.

Not a ‘last boss’ character or a driving part of the storyline, just a random kappa who is typically an early encounter in whatever singleplayer modes and story I had come up with at the time.

I had forgotten all about this idea until this thread. There was a time I was thinking daily about it for months. Now I barely remember it. It’s a bit of a melancholic feeling.

an Outsider yoinked by Yukari to play a prank on the Lunarians due to similarity to Kaguya, by double-crossing her with Eirin and then double-crossing Eirin too she becomes fused with gap hag, getting access to most of her abilities and memories but causing their power to be square rooted
She has an ability, but unlike Sanae and Sumireko cannot control it: she's capable of making others take the least desirable course of action, it's how she luckshits her way into protagonist power
eventually she has to go because her anthropocentric ideals clash too heavily with Gensokyo; Reimu despite being constantly vilified as the "greatest traitor of humanity" really doesn't want to do it, but the OC forces her hand when she realizes Yukari is just too strong and is overwriting her personality, and goes for a me-or-you hail mary attack on the borders

I once created this fairy called Nubes, with the idea being she's a cloud fairy. Her power was to create clouds, and that was pretty much it. In terms of personality, she would have been like a kid playing a weather scholar, taking herself very seriously for conducting cloud "experiments" and then making silly and extremely obvious weather forecasts.
I basically made her as an idea for a second stage boss in an OC incident fanfic, whose story would have related to floods and bad weather. However, I never ended up writing it. Her role in the story was to just basically get in the way of Reimu, Marisa, and Cirno, due to conducting a cloud experiment. This would have lead to a misunderstanding with the first two, and with Cirno just wanting to prove her superiority.
