I don't like capy because it's all porn. Granted, it's not as common in the /mge/ thread, but it's still enough to keep me away. Scroll, scroll, scroll and there's porn. Three scrolls of the mouse and you're guaranteed to see at least one explicit image, usually more. /mgt/ on /jp/ is the last place I can post about monster girls without being bombarded with porn. Basically, it's the only place where I can post about monster girls while at work. I kinda thought that was the whole point of /mgt/, but as soon as the gooners got a little more freedom to post NSFW over there, that's all they do now. The problem with moving to capy is that it essentially puts the already small MGE community on a death timer. You've moved a small community to a place where you have no chance to replenish users, being on an even more isolated corner of the internet. Being able to replenish users is vital to keep any community alive because old users eventually do fall off for varying reasons over time. Slowly people will start to leave and over time you're just going to be left with a dessicated husk of a community. At least with it being on /a/ and later /jp/, you could replenish some users through cross-pollenation of boards that have far more active user bases, but even then, we've seen decline. Now this could be mitigated if the admin was to advertise, but I sincerely doubt anyone would be filling to fund an expensive operation like that. It's one thing to run a meager website that doesn't require much hardware; it's another beast entirely to maintain effective advertising.

You can say I'm full of shit all you like, but I've seen this happen time and time again over the course of my life. Hell, even in the MGE context, this is what killed the Russian MGE community recently, moving to an even more isolated website. I think one of the best gauges of this is the Wikifag updates. You see far less art being made. Writefagging is at an all time low. And while yes, the decline started before the move, it's no doubt accelerated it. You can see this when comparing meaningful activity (the art, the stories, and overall exposure of the community outside its base) from February 2026 to May 2025, the start date of the move (more or less). And despite a desperate attempt to inflate vibrant activity over there from a handful of dedicated users, it's not going to change the trend if you don't shuffle more users over there. You've already grabbed everyone you could possibly get from here, so where's your next source of new users going to come from? How you going to get them over there to maintain the community?

These are the questions you need to be thinking about now that you've isolated it.

You can Cheshire post at me all you want, you can mock it all you want. But i haven't seen a single person come up with a solution to this very real problem that's on the horizon. All I've gotten is "well if it dies, it dies. I don't care."

I make this post because I don't want to see it die. It's nothing against capy per se.

You have absolutely no idea what you are trying to preach about, most of art in wikifag's updates has been unrelated to these threads for years. These threads were on a death bed even before the migration thanks to all the obsessed pests that latched onto it after the big DMCA dramas, if anything the move actually dialed the death timer and this is plainly visible from big names reappearing.

But despite that, current activity levels on capy are diminishing; it's less than from before the move and even compared to a few months ago. So tell me, when the old users continue to fall off - which will undoubtedly happen - where are you going to get new users to replace the old ones?

Being on 4chan, you can pickup the occasional folks from other boards. You don't have that whatsoever on capy. You're going to slowly bleed users because you have no way to attract new ones. And then you have a withered husk, like /monster/.

To be fair, MGE's star isn't exactly in the ascendant. Neither is the wider monster girl community's, it's all stale at best and decaying at worst since the boom ended a long time ago. I don't think there's any appreciable amounts of new blood here or anywhere else.

Moderation has filled their ranks back up again, and the boards are being moderated quite well now.
