back on my PC, first LNBNV is a while
i don't really get rusty in terms of mechanics with touhou but my nerves get set back a lot if i don't do runs for even just a little bit, it's gonna take me a bit to feel comfortable with runs that get far again
this one LNNd from GT to the end which is nice though

I'm playing through Servants of Harvest Wish at the moment. Not sure the game's harder than the standard fare or I got soft from playing ImIm and EIoS before this, but I do feel like I'm getting my balls busted a lot more. I only managed to get a few normal, hard and one extra 1cc in the 17 hours I've dumped so far, though I did spend some of that time messing around trying to discover the hidden spell cards. Pretty fun game. It also has the most unhinged depiction of Sanae I've seen, that was nice.

it would help if i played it more than once every other week because every time i put it down i forget how brutal (and sometimes bullshit) it is and it takes a few runs to get used to it again.

I did play the games in order, but my only previous experience with danmaku games was psyvariar and crimzon clover, so that might have contributed to it.
Still, I do still consider it a fairly rough game if you like playing without bombing, as I do.

From the screenshots, it looks like you're playing in windowed mode.
You should play in full screen, it decreases the input lag a little bit.
If that doesn't help enough, I suggest trying out the "open input lag patch", it's supposed to work a little better than vpatch.

Put it in the game's folder and change "vpatch.exe" to "oilp_loader.exe" in thcrap/config/games.js with notepad to get thcrap to run it.

There's still something weird if your screenshots are 1440p instead of the native 640x480 the game runs at.
Do you have GPU scaling enabled turned on in the driver settings? You could try turning that off.
Ideally, you should be using "integer scaling" if that's available.
