If she just chose not to read minds people would still dislike her because they know she can read their thoughts at any moment, there's a difference between controlling an ability and outright disabling it. They're still suspect because Seiga is still missing not to mention because of the trial the temple was left mostly undefended with only Byakuren and Ichirin + Unzan.
We still do not know why the taoist's got interested in Mizuchi. Whomever is the suspect seems to be another unknown vengeful spirit on par with ability with Mizuchi, we just don't know their motive/grudge which right now seems to be just targeting the Temple and anyone interfering with them Satori and Mamizou the only odd one out is Yoshika who nobody can attest to because her master is seemingly missing in all of this.
