Same height, same length, find one with the same width though. P365 is wider by a good amount, that said though i prefer the LCP max which is slightly smaller than the bodyguard anyway

Wrong.
BG2.0 is significantly smaller than subcompact and micro 9 mms

>1 inch vs 0.8 inches width with almost the same dimensions otherwise.
A good deep concealment holster like the Enigma or just having some kind of proper setup that allows for an IWB setup that's concealed but accessible will negate most benefits from having the slimmest of the slim guns unless you work in an office where they require tucked in button up shirts.
>>
>>64894624
If a .380 isn't pocket size then it's just a girl gun. S&W is pulling some BS here, they know we want that gun in pocket size but released the first iteration in a retarded size. When idiots cave and get that model, and sales eventually slow down, they'll release the acceptable size model and the idiots will buy that too. Don't fall for it, a .380 waistband gun is absolutely retarded unless you're a weak woman.
You could stuff that one in your pocket if you're fat but it'll still be obvious, so not really deep concealment and not really taking advantage of the small frames .380 can have. I can fit a p365 in my pocket but it's extremely obvious.
>>

What is a pocket sized handgun if not the p365 or the bodyguard? Ive never owned a gun that small but I would like one with a half decent capacity and reliable. The only thing that seems to be reliable at such small sizes are those tiny revolvers, but at that point I feel like I'd give up too much compared to my m&p.
>>
>>
>>64895182
>IWB
Yes i agree, however for pocket carry the p365 is utterly mogged and the convenience of pocket carry cannot be understated. For IWB no point going as small as a p365 imo when you can just as effectively cram something much bigger in

i always lean towards getting a Glock 26 because of it taking pretty much any 9mm Glock mag. Flush fit mag for carry and a extended grip mag for any other shooting. It's unfortunate how fat the 26 is but damn is it small in height and length
>>
>>64894624
to me the BG 2.0 is the current best pocket semi-auto so if you specifically want that as an option. If you want 9mm then just go DB9, Shield, Hellcat, 43, etc. don't even consider .380 if you're gonna be whining about it being weaker than 9mm. As for me I don't care; ten rounds of .380 will absolutely btfo someone let alone five or six rounds

But this is the second bodyguard model...
And it's even slightly larger lol on top of being almost an entirely different gun.
Going smaller would be getting into a look how hard I can piss showdown with the ruger LCP and it doesn't seem like that's worked out well for anyone that's tried.
Even kel tec gave up and they were there first.

bg 2.0 is great
in the pocket it looks like you have shit in your pocket but it doesn't scream gun especially with a pocket holster
but what really makes it great is how well it shoots at such a small size, most .380 pocket pistols have shitty ergos and micro 9s are jumpy as hell
shooting the bg 2.0 with it's .380 and good ergos feels like shooting a full sized 9mm
>>
>>64897338
If I could direct mount an optic Id be sold but even the EPS carry sticks over the sides of a 365 so I dont know if its practical or even possible. Ive shot plenty of small guns and theyre all kinda ass for me to shoot accurately past 25 feet without an optic.
>>
>>
>>
>>64897348
your only realistic option is the viridian green dot made specifically to match the bg2 slide. mounting plate replaces the rear sight so feasibility depends on how much you trust that thing with no backup

Maybe in another 5-10 years we'll have some red dots capable, I'd settle for a laser grip I guess but I can point shoot usually okay with these smaller guns its just getting accurate shots after 25-30ish feet that I struggle with due to the short barrel combined with 20+ moa front sights.
>>
>>
>>64897338
>feels like shooting a full sized
This is the integral genius of S&W's Bodyguard 2.0. Designed and engineered a micro(/pocket) pistol that most people can get a near-full handgrip on, and has a manual of arms akin to a subcompact/compact semiauto. Honey I shrunk the Shield achieved perfectly.

9mm isn't even that "great" in the grand scheme of things, especially with gimped short barrel velocities. literally the same bullet diameter so the sme bullet technology will transfer over for the most part. anything you hit with 380 will do 9mm type damage. shot placement is everything with 9mm as is, how many times have you seen criminals tank mag dumps froma glock 17?

it's significantly thinner, the most innovative part about it. it's the next evolution since stack and a half hellcat/365 sized guns.

.380 IMO is great, at-least where I’m at I believe it’s cheaper by the carton than 9 and with the smaller-ish form factor the kick should be around the same so you aren’t missing much aside from pen. power but if you are in a situation to use that in self-defense it shouldn’t be any problem

Becauses Kel-Tec's .380 was a "just good enough" barely engineered rechambering of the P32 <--in which caliber the design was most effective.
S&W's Bodyguard 2.0 is a complete re-conception of both the micro/"pocket" pistol, and the .380 ACP handgun more broadly. Have to hand it to them, they did their engineering design homework

I sure do like .380 and I even like the original Bodyguard. It's an LCP with a better trigger, good sights, and doesn't suck complete balls to shoot. It's a shame they totally stopped making it, it's a deep concealment pistol. But larger .380s like a Makarov are pretty fun, and .380 has actually gotten cheaper over the years, so it's a great time to get into it.

Hey, new production guns are new production guns. Your question did led me to research that led me to discover that the PP, PPK, and PPK/S have been discontinued, unfortunately. There was once a time that it was the only reliable pocket pistol on the market.
>>
>>64905664
True, and I won't trash seecamp for keeping their dream alive. I was just thinking mass market. Are seecamps still super pickey with ammunition or whatever. I feel like I remember the guy saying it was winchester silvertips or nothing.
>PP, PPK, and PPK/S have been discontinued
Like, all of them or just the .32s? A shame either way.

Previous attempt
>Čabrinović swallowed his cyanide pill and jumped into the Miljacka river. Čabrinović survived the suicide attempt, as the old cyanide only induced vomiting, and the Miljacka was only 13 cm deep due to the hot, dry summer. Police dragged Čabrinović out of the river, and he was severely beaten by the crowd before being taken into custody.
Talk about bad luck.

Speaking of small .380 / 9mm pistols... let's call them pocket/ccw pistols?
Are there any which are known to have reliability issues? Are there any which are known to be super reliable? Any other "known issues" that you can think of?

>>
>>64895243
The original Bodyguard or Ruger LCP.
No revolver will conceal well in your pocket, again you can carry a P365 but it's not gonna conceal well. A Ruger LCR doesn't conceal well. Yes they fit but they don't conceal and you're approaching a size where they can't be drawn quickly out of a pocket.
>>64895269
I'm tired of fatfucks claiming they can conceal a 9mm in their pocket. I've carried a Bodyguard in my pocket for 15+ years. You are fucking fat and also fat.
>>64897303
It's too goddamn big. The size of the original was fine, still slightly bigger than the LCP which sucked. An upgrade would've been shrinking it to conceal better, not fattening it up for fatties like the guy quoted above (fat fucking fatass).
>>
>>
>>64921061
>I've carried a Bodyguard in my pocket for 15+ years.
Sorry I got sidetracked by that guy's offensive obesity, but even the OG Bodyguard sticks out when carrying innapocket. It's a big heavy bulge you're carrying around and if anyone is paying attention it doesn't look like a phone or wallet. It's fatter than a phone and bigger than a wallet. If you're wearing sweats it's so heavy it swings when you walk. So even micro .380s are not the best for deep concealment, people paying attention and knowing what to spot are able to tell or will just be suspicious of this giant square package stuffed in your pocket. Revolvers don't solve it either, the shape is more obvious and the cylinder sticks out a lot. The best thing is just keep it as small as possible. I almost went with a Ruger LCP just due to the slightly smaller size, but Ruger quality is trash and it didn't have a safety.

>>64921061
It's lighter and less of a shitbrick than the original with twice the magazine capacity. And, for people with up to medium size hands can be wielded with a full grip as a subcompact or compact pistol would be. It's the first micro handgun that can actually be handled and fired like its 'normal' sized contemporaries.

S&W could've put it in 30SC if they wanted to, but they never wanted anything to do with 30SC in the first place. They only made the guns that Vista paid them to make, and even then they held back production tremendously because they knew nobody would be interested and no other brands would hop on board. Here we are years later, the cartridge is discontinued, and only one non-contract gun was ever made in 30SC, a fucking Hi-Point. This gun couldn't have saved 30SC because you couldn't actually put 30SC in it, once you actually give it a slide and barrel that'd handle 30SC and made the grip larger to handle the additional length, you've got a Shield Plus. 30SC was always retarded and never even succeeded at its only marketing bullet-point: magazine capacity. You can get 10rds of 380 into the mag of a BG2.0, know how many rounds of 30SC you can fit in a mag the same height? Also 10. Guess how rounds of 9mm you can fit into that same height? It's also 10. It doesn't help until you're into big mags on big guns, yes you can get 28rds of 30SC where 24rds of 9mm fit, but did you see anyone crying out for a 30SC 2011? Retarded meme bullet appeals to retards who suck off advertisers while nobody with half a brain ever gave a shit. Can't wait for you all to fade away now that it's discontinued entirely.

I got an LCP Max as first carry gun because I assumed anything larger would be too much of a hassle to carry, I'm not that committed to carrying, and its better to have something Ill always take than something I don't. The guys at the LGS politely but repeatedly prodded me like "are you sure this is what you want?" because, according to them, its miserable to shoot and not hard to conceal a normal compact anyway.
Well they were right and wrong at the same time IMO. I only later tried IWB OWB holsters on a full size handgun and found it perfectly easy and comfortable to conceal, so that wasnt the issue I thought it was. But otoh I find shooting the LCP to be perfectly fine and dont get the trigger bite everyone complains about, and it is ultimately more comfortable to pocket carry than a belt holster. Some anons saying it still prints are correct but a good holster will obscure the shape and no one's paying attention anyway. All in all am happy with the .380
