There are a few very rare videos from the ambush on the VDV at Hostomel that I've only ever seen once.
One of them shows an IFV that's crashed through a building and some Ukr SOF are digging around in it (not the one where the guy is pinned).
There's another that shows the guys who ambushed the VDV in the famous video digging trenches and preparing positions.
>>
>>64896318
for me its the aftermath video where the only thing remaining of a guy was literally just a piece of ass, sadly i cant find it now.

> Withdraw when ukraine signed surrender
Zigger has hit crack pipe too much, somehow you have rationalized the bodged Russian zerg to Kyiv as having failed because… and wait for it… the Ukrainians surrendered?!
Apparently when you survive a decapitation strike on your capital and force your enemy to withdraw from constantly attriting his supply lines, that is ‘surrendering.’
Tbh full psychosisposting might work on /pol/, but there are far too many knowers for that here, pidorashka.
You should head to the front, you’re not a very good propagandist, and mighty PUCCNR needs to you to go na sturm as all the other sturmoviki have already been reduced to fertilizer.

Watching ziggers try to rewrite the history of the VDV's failure to capture Hostomel in time to open an airbridge, only succeed in clearing the airfield at all because the militia defenders ran out of ammunition, and then get fucking slaughtered by an artillery brigade and ambushes after randomly shooting up a bunch of civilian cars is an ongoing trip.
Motherfucker, we all watched the thing you're talking about in real time. Do you think we're all suddenly going to forget?

Virtually all of military history is like that. Even the big successes are speckled with fuckups, but you get a look at how bad things really get when its conscript armies with decrepit equipment and incoherent leadership. Any time they make contact it's a race to see whose fuckups catch up with them first.

You have no idea. My colleague at work is a Ukrainian refugee - was living in Kharkov, one day a rocket hit her apartment building and half of the building collapsed, fortunately she was in the other half, but was forced to evacuate.
The craziest stories for me are the ones where a family receives news that their father, brother, son was killed in the war e.g. a huge artillery bombing, and all that was found was a hand or a foot or something. And then a year later during a prisoner exchange the guy shows up perfectly fine and healthy. Turns out he survived the bombing but because of concussion or disorientation he got lost and was captured. What a fucking roller coaster that must be for the family. They already held a funeral, they grieved, the accepted and then the guy just shows up at their door "Honey, I'm home!"

Random pic I found while doing geolocations for the battle of Severodonetsk. This particular advance was surprising, and iirc represented a break in Ukie lines. I remember first days photo of civilians in some street yard picking up the guns out of wooden crates.
Just regular men in regular clothes, some wooden crates, guns in the hands.
It happen before russian long Kiev line was even destroyed.
People thought they would have to fight russians on the streets of the city back then, so they were preparing.
>>
>>64902874
>People thought they would have to fight russians on the streets of the city back then,
In a number of cities, they did fight on the streets with these handed-out AKs. Sumy in particular had fighting in the city center that was driven back by armed civilians. And of course there was Mariupol - people forget that a substantial portion of the defenders were random civvies who decided to join Azov or whoever instead of risking the evacuation
>>
>>
>>
>>64902795
The battles of Severaldonuts and Lysyjank were the last time russia did anything close to manouvre warfare. They boasted about shooting high five figure arty shells a day and just swnd a wall of explosions over both cities. The ukies learnt here the hard way how to blunt russian advances and attriting russian arty is a win condition. The blood price for this lesson was quite high for ukraine. What russia learnt from this battle, idk. I'm not even sure they care.
>>
>>
>>64903038
They lost some credit due to their commander not deciding to join forces with Azov in the end, and instead leading his men on a retarded breakout attempt that got stopped and all of them captured almost immediately. It was so stupid and so quick after months of siege, that he has been accused of striking a secret deal with the russians.
The marines themselves were excellent fighters and in just as thick shit as Azov. They just didn't have as many cameramen. Something like 1/3 of their contingent broke from their commander, opting instead to fight to the death in Azovstal.

>he has been accused of striking a secret deal with the russians.
A fair number of commanders in the South did. The guy who was supposed to blow up the bridges in Henichesk was on the take, and allowed the ziggers through, which completely fucked a lot of ukie defensive positions (since they popped up behind them). The commander in Kherson was an even bigger shitweasel. He tricked several ukie troops into assembling for a counterattack in a nearby wooded park. Except it was an ambush and they got massacred by ziggers.

This is different from those guys. Those guys were bought out before the war. The Mariupol guy was at his breaking point after months of brutal urban warfare, facing certain death. It's understandable and criticizable at the same time. Nobody would have faulted him, had there not been another large group of men who did choose to make a final stand.

That is weird that they have the chutes packed. Maybe as a backup in case they reached the Antonov airport and found the runway was already cratered?
Despite the IL-76s having to turn back(?), there were BMDs present in Hostomel. So the VDV got them landed somehow. Unless an advanced column rushed down on the ground to them.

LDNR forces were the first to impose conscription back in 2022, way before both Ukraine and Russia.
Most men who couldn't escape Donbass in 2022-2023 got swept up by press gangs and fed into meatgrinder.
Kind of ironic since one stated goal of the war is for "protecting the Russian speaking population of Ukraine"

Not ironic since
a. Russians always lie.
and
b. This has been a historic Russian imperial tactic. Every new territory they conquered during the Tsarist expansion had its male population forcibly conscripted and thrown at the next plot of clay the Tsar wanted.
As per thread topic, here's a rare image of DNR/LNR buffoons enjoying local entertainment. Note, there is absolutely nothing homogay/pedo about this since that is exclusively a westoid degeneracy thing.

Kherson had been infiltrated, the Russians knew all the safe paths through the minefields, the order to demolish the bridge never came, and some big shot in Kherson was later caught in Eastern Europe trying to escape with a suitcase full of diamonds.

I've never been able to nail down if Kherson was betrayed by the governor, the mayor, a local commander, or somebody else.
