I want a remake of Battlestar Galactica set in modern times.
-NPC west nukes Iran.
-Sole Iran carrier has to wander the oceans looking for a new homeland as they're constantly fending off attacks.
I don't know what "earth" would be in this scenario.

It's probably not worth the ordinance to sink it and she can only launch slow, inoffensive UAVs and turboprop floatplanes.
It's like the Kutznetsov, it's so ineffective that sinking it would only benefit them.

The USS Pueblo tour girls giggle at your sheer carelessness, irresponsibility and unscientific empiricism in incorrectly stating historical fact and recommend your reeducation in a proper Korean Style manner. You will arrive at the Ministry at 6:00 AM Monday, do not speak. Sit in the BLUE chair and await further instruction.

>airstrip comically short because fuck aircraft what do they think this is an aircraft carrier?
>the lone singular cannon has to but put on an angle to prevent it from blasting their own jets taking off
>the longest part of the carrier is not for the aircraft, but for the lone tank to go up up and down the bow
Judging by the oaratrooping force, this clear diversionary aircraft carrier, clearly made to distract third worlders from the real airfract carriers, was a success. I assume the dog tags are to show that inside the ship are an entire army battalion there just to kill the special forces of any third world country that would be sent out to capture said carrier

>piss off the navy by letting the chair force kill the enemy boat
>piss off stealthfags by letting the braphog get it
>piss off BRRRTfags by using the braphog like a missile truck
I like this plan a lot, the best plans are the ones that ensure the most amount of people are upset by it

I wonder if we'll see any sub action in this conflict. And by that I mean sub-on-sub action. Last one I can think of was during the Falklands FAFO except the Argie's recalled theirs before the Brits could give it a good rogering.

Very unlikely. If Iran is going to actually operate their navy (yet to be seen) then they will keep their little subs nut-hugging up near the shore. Its the only enviroment where they have a prayer of working. Meanwhile, the SSNs are not going to go anywhere near the coast. If we are really lucky, a P-8 will spot one and a Burke will fire off an ASROC at it.

Count how? I wouldn't say it's an "aircraft carrier sunk in combat" (unless you want to say that about anything with a helipad or that could launch a UAV), but it is a large hull sent down. If she actually sank.

File: INS Makran, a former oil tanker converted into an Expeditionary Mobile Base, appears to have sustained damage in the strikes(1).jpg (269.9 KB)

First and only satellite imagery out of Bandar Abbas. Not to be confused with Konarak where we saw sunken Corvettes.
The lion's share of the Iranian Navy was in port at Bandar Abbas the day before the strikes,
https://www.hisutton.com/Iranian-Navy-In-Port.html
Only one ship, the IRIS Makran, is seen in satellite imagery damaged in port. Corvette berth 2 along with Frigate berth 4 seem to have been struck as well. Interestingly berths for both Midget and KILO-class submarines seem undamaged, at least to me.

A hit at the base of the superstructure? Depending on whatever was dropped on her, the bridge and any other command centers probably got mangled. I don't put much faith in either the ship's own systems or the crew's damage control capability, so it will probably burn there until enough leaks open up and she settles.

>Is this why /k/ was being spammed?
I don't think you can point to any one thing that is the inciting incident, it's all just a vibe now.
We're living through a kind of geopolitical Fin de siècle that appears to me to be a kind of historical correction of the lingering traces of imperialism and autocracy that somehow clung to life through the age of freedom, peace and prosperity that was the latter half of the 20th century.
Course corrections tend to over-correct a bit and there'll be some wobble as we oscillate back and forth between extremes but humanity will settle down into a peaceful and prosperous equilibrium eventually.

I think it's a bad idea to try and match AI genned weapons/vehicles etc to real ones. They're never more than hints of real things so they're actually relying on your brain to fill in the blanks and match patterns with real things you remember.
Don't help them out by actively participating in the process.
Or to put it another way, please look at their misses, not their hits. It only takes one wrong detail to show that it's not an X, the fact that it got a part of it right doesn't make it an X, it makes the delusion inspired by X.

We don't know.
Shahid Bagheri is claimed struck by CENTCOM. No visual confirmation yet.
No word on Shahid Mahdavi or Shahid Roudaki. Shahid Mahdavi was south of Bandar Abbas just like Shahid Bagheri, so was likely targeted as well. Can't find anything on where Shahid Roudaki was.

CENTCOM claiming to have destroyed all Iranian ships in the Gulf of Oman. Posts video of one ship getting hit in port; don't know which one.
https://x.com/CENTCOM/status/2028553001644736808
Note; the only Iranian Naval base in the Gulf of Oman are Konarak and Jask. We also know there several submarines untouched at port in Bandar Abbas, so CENTCOM is using shifty wording to make it sound like they sunk the entire Iranian Navy without actually saying it.
I'm not saying the Iranian Navy stands a chance, I'm just pointing out the facts.

IT'S A FUCKING NUKE
All memery aside, good levelheaded analyses so far. I wonder if they're trying to leave some stuff (and only engage if it tries to sail) on the chance they can get personnel there to evaluate it.
Although if there are some subs out there and we get to see actual ASW, then it's just another bonus for the ones who like to see cool stuff.

Biggest limit is ISR. They have missiles/drone launchers but they're going to be seen before they can get into launch position and they don't have any sort of long range air defense so they will get blown up before they can get anything through. If Iran had enough coordination they may be able to mass them for a saturation attack but I think that requires a level of command and control that is currently obliterated and by the time they've built it back up it will probably be too late for them to matter.

So far we know,
>Bandar Abbas:
Makran-class forward base ship IRIS Makran heavily damaged on satellite imagery.
Moudge-class frigate/corvette IRIS Sahand(?) damaged on satellite imagery.
Avland-class frigate IRIS Sabalan(?) seemingly damaged on satellite imagery.
Moudge-class frigate/corvette IRIS Zagros(?) seemingly damaged on satellite imagery.
KILO-class submarine IRIS Nooh untouched; possibly already unseaworthy.
Moudge-class frigate/corvette IRIS Taftan(?) untouched.
>South of Bandar Abbas:
CENTCOM claim drone carrier Shahid Bagheri struck.
No word on drone carrier Shahid Mahdavi.
>Konarak
Moudge-class frigate/corvette IRIS Jamaran struck on video and sunk in satellite imagery.
Bayandor-class corvette IRIS Bayandor sunk on satellite imagery.
Bayandor-class corvette IRIS Naghdi sunk on satellite imagery.
CENTCOM claim all ships in port sunk.
>Gulf of Oman:
CENTCOM claim all 11 ships sunk including at Konarak)
