Got $1.5K to blow on a gun and am inclining towards the Vector Gen 3 (pic related).
Is the gun actually good or a CoD meme? What would you recommend if not the Vector? Also post pics of our set up.
Im thinking pistol brace and Holosun idc how cwinge

It’s an over-designed square of polymer and metal. In its civilian non-NFA configuration (without a stock and without full-auto) its whole gimmick with the recoil dampener is rendered pointless and it’ll preform just about as well as any other .45/9mm/whatever meme round you have chambered in it PCC. If you’re okay with all that or are looking to go through the NFA then knock yourself out bro.

It's been relegated to meme status for like a decade anon. If you like the early-2010s-FPS vibe of it, go right ahead, but looking at the Vector through any lens of practicality is a mistake since
A) It's a PCC, pretty much range toy status from the getgo
B) The design revolves around (iffy) mechanics of redistributing FA recoil energy away from recoil and it cannot do this in semi
C) The barrel length is comically small for the overall size and weight of the package

I mean, it works. But the pictures make it look a lot smaller than it is, it's a huge-ass gun (like 6-7lbs and 28" long) for a pistol cartridge and despite the size only has a 5.5" or 6.5" barrel. The gimmick (which is indeed mostly a gimmick) only has any interest at high rates of fire. I vaguely recall someone was doing (did do?) either an FRT or a selectable binary trigger. I used a plain binary trigger on a range toy one I tried and it was fun enough, but THAT expensive fun enough? Not for me. I too had thought very strongly about getting one and didn't. I guess at least having a proper SBR version no longer incurs the extra $200 or a long wait anymore so that's mildly better then when I looked at it.
If you really, REALLY want the look and to have a fun gun that'll shoot the cheapest center fire ammo you can get go for it, but once I tried one I cooled on it.

Are you after a PCC explicitly or just some sort of cool compact gun? For former I'd probably look at an MPX or something first. For the latter I'd look at one of the fun bullpups if you don't have one already before a vector. That's what I ended up doing.

>Does anyone make a FRT or super safety for it?
I think I remember seeing last year that someone had released an FRT for gen2 & gen3 vectors (and I think gen1 could do it in principle but you had to buy a new fire control group?), but dunno how well it works. Binary triggers were definitely done, I used one, but the one I used wasn't selectable so it made it even more of a range toy. If the FRT works and particularly if it's selectable it'd at least be fun.
But you can FRT a lot of other stuff too so still sorta eh. The main "recoil reduction" is just because you're shooting 9mm out of a seven fucking pound gun, of course it's gonna feel light. Wouldn't need any fancy reciprocating mass thing to be light felt recoil. I guess brrrtting at 20cpr is maybe a little easier on the wallet/conscience then at 30-40+ cpr though.

Getting a vector in 9mm is haram, it must be in 45 as intended or 10mm.

Tis a dumb toy for kids who watched roo many “one self-righteous man and his gun saaave the whirrrrled” movies. If you want to play with real guns, join the fucking service or admit youre a larping uninteresting loser with no constructive or healthy hobbies. Tired of these one fatman armies

Get the Nexus Evo version of the Scorpion. They modified the Evo to be delayed blowback instead of straight blowback. You could also buy the Springfield Kuna and get the Nexus lower that lets you take Scorpion Evo magazines. Thank me later.

It's an alright PCC. It was pointless back when rapid-fire mechanisms were banned (see >>64911760's second point), but now that FRT/SS are all over the place, they finally fulfill their purpose.

Calm down, the Gen 3 MPXs are working fine (third time's the charm, I guess). The only reason to avoid the MPX is that you hate Ron Cohen (understandable).

A mac daddy 9mm 300 dollar 3d print gun project that turned into a 600 dollar gun because of accessories. Not including the 4 extended glock mags and hardware.

I own a vector in 10mm and an sp5. I would say to get an mp5 clone instead of a vector. The vector is fun and kinda goofy, but the mp5 is a better shooter. The only downside to the mp5s is that they're a bigger pain in the dick to clean.

regarding point B, if you shoot an actual FA one at a range that rents them (and there are way more than you'd think) you'll find that the recoil is there, it just jumps down into your hand and it's not really any easier to shoot than normal, so....

The first one was in .45 ACP (to prove the design worked at reducing recoil when full auto), then came the 9mm (because the company wanted to make sales and not go bankrupt), and lastly the 10mm version arrived.
