Why can't countries into air defense and SEAD??. The concept is literally so easy. Good radars and good missiles. The tech is cheap nowadays.

Who makes the tech?

China. It's literally just ADCs, DACs, FPGAd on a PCB.

Until AA lasers can easily detonate an airliner at 35k ft and 100mi away, ground based systems will simply be at a major disadvantage due to being static and fighting against gravity.

Static defenses lose.

It's expensive and the components are high-tech and pretty much only available for the west and parts of Asia. The rest has to deal with zigger cold war tech and maybe a fresh coat of paint.

You mean the tech that just failed to protect the Iran regime leader? Imao

It’s not necessarily the tech. Many air defense artillery units are gender integrated. As such the FA remains the king of battle and the ADA is essentially their camp followers and washer women.

The tech is commercial though, from analog devices and texas instruments. It's not super sekret stuff

they have potential nowadays with proper tech

see: Nagorno-Karabakh conflict where loitering IAI HAROP anti-radiation missiles did SEAD quite successfully. this is Israeli tech developed by copying US but this type of missile is not particularly hard to use and doesn't require as much coordinated training and tech as other methods, working as a more out of the box solution. US prefer to spam MALD decoys with the same fuction and snipe AA from actual aircraft but this requires more planes on station and pilots to do the actual shooting. Europe trains to do this too, kind of half assedly, by relying on limited purchases of US missiles for that.
