Appears to show targets of opportunity. Is that an AAA gun at the end and is that really a priority and necessary target at this time?

You think we'll see the one that blows up the school?

no, but what are you going to do with leftover munition?
>>

>Is that an AAA gun at the end and is that really a priority and necessary target at this time?

They were flying the LUCAS in there for the first time so AAA was a threat to those, as seen in Ukraine. Plus they've had Reapers flying far inland as well, think an AAA could reach out and touch those as well with some luck.
>>
>>64913802
ive never notice the laser guide in these types of videos before, looks cool
>>
>>64913822
you wouldn't vector those over aaa bubbles
>>
>>64913833
Ooor you could maybe just bomb them and not worry about it? Seems like that's the way they chose to go about it.
>>
>>64913833
>you wouldn't vector those over aaa bubbles
Correct, because the AAA bubble ceases to exist when the AAA eats a JDAM
>>
>>64913845
you wouldn't waste a big JDAM on such a tiny target. you use SDBs.
>>
>>64913822
Iran has a limited number of functioning semi modernised KS-19s that can threaten things like a Reaper but i thought most of those were turned into fast truck artillery.
>>
>>64913830
We shouldn't be seeing a designator laser on thermals at all. It's a completely different wavelength to what the sensor is meant to see.
>>
>>64913875
Conversely, a SDB costs twice as much as a JDAM for even the cheap options, much less the good ones, so while it's overkill, it probably depends on how busy the target area is and how many munitions you need each strike craft to carry.

AI makes mistakes like that impossible. I'm heavily invested in Palantir because of the facial recognition contract with the DoW for autonomous drones they got. It prevents a autonomous drone from attacking anyone who is not on the terrorist watchlist until Starlink confims that they have been added to it before the warhead detonates. It's efficient and saves innocent lives.
>>

Deepest Oct/7 lore: Hamas got the paraglider idea from Iran who got it from the Norks after they stole an entire RoK paraglider company and it's factories. The Norks were in the middle of training an entire Storm Corps Division to use them when they found out that Hamas was using the tactics they showed Iran. The Norks wanted it to be a tactical theoretical thing since a large mass attack would be a one time in history deal before the shock effect was ruined. Like if the Germans knew what chemical weapons could do BEFORE the first time they used them.

Hamas via Iran ruined that for the Norks, after october 7 Nork/Iran cooperation drifted apart, notice that there have been zero accounts of joint DPRK/Iran cooperation in the Ukraine war. You would think that nations with such close technical ties (The Norks gave therm a coastal submarine production line) would cooperate when working for Russia but they never even spoke to each other.

That doesn't mean Israel didn't do the alleged strike against the girls school that killed 50 innocent children. Personally I'm not sure it happened at all, though. Iran might just be trying to get an infowar win.

>is than an AAA
I'm on two fences with this one.
On the one hand, coloquially you'd read that as "triple A" and thus correct English would be a instead of an. On the other hand, while I dont know who, i understand someone might see it and think out the entire phrase of "anti-aircraft artillety" and on that sole technicality the word an applies.
But it's wrong. It's a AAA not an AAA.

God help me if I find out some of you actually say "A A A"
>>
>>64914053
>AI makes mistakes like that impossible
Assuming the AI gets perfect information from perfect sensors and more dubiously, assuming the AI doesn't tend to hallucinate.
And I just realized you were shitposting, goddam it anon.

Man, watching the US military do what it was meant to do, actual warfighting against other militaries instead of doing gay liberal shit like nation building and winning hearts and minds is beautiful and awe inspiring. like watching a force of nature at work. an avalanche or a thunderstorm moving in. you can taunt and cuss at it, throw rocks and shake your fist. but eventually it will engulf and consume you.

They also work during night very good too.
https://clearalign.com/knowledge-center/id/5/why-swir-is-ideal-for-border-surveillance-maritime-imaging
Night sky SWIR glow is about 10-10 times more intense than star glow that ilimuntates for "conventional" light intensifying night vision. At the same time SWIR cameras aren't blinded during day.

That's not true, you can run them deterministically with a greedy sampler or by using a fixed RNG seed, they're just less useful that way.
If you're trying to say their outputs can sometimes radically change under minor perturbations of the input, yeah sure, but lots of complex systems have stability edges.

>thermal images
It's not thermal vision. That's the thing. It's a camera that only picks up short wavelength IR light, which is just beyond the visible spectrum, but so far that it picks up thermal light. It works well in the day, pretty good at night, and it sees through smoke, clouds and fog. It also shares its wavelength with designator lasers.

Unfortunately, everyone learned during the Gulf War that if you send your post-soviet air force against an American one, sure you might bag a jet here, a couple of helicopters there, but it will cost you your entire air force. Better to preserve the pilots and move what working planes you still have out of reach than feed them for nothing.

Except in 1991, Iraq could have their aircraft flee to Iran and survive. Whatever Iran doesn't use now, it loses for good.

If they really learned from Iraq they’d be burying their aircraft, leave them on the ground and they’re still blowing up just as much as they would be if they were airborne
