3. Look for things to pass the time with beyond your phone or a laptop.

You have a finite supply of motivation that erodes every day with very few opportunities to recoup it.
The moment you allow yourself to "count the days" is the moment this erosion goes into hyperdrive and won't recover, you will make the rest of your service much less tolerable.
