what's he saying?
>>
>>64918851
>600-1000 meter range
Bump that up, give it a camera with zoom and a monitor on the launcher for locking the target and this is the anti-drone drone I have been talking about for the last 3 years.

>>64918851
>No explosives
>Explodes

Explain
>>
>>64920120
It's almost like the target drone is full of explosives with an impact fuse.
>>
>>64918851
>gamechanger
>invented year after drone interceptors became a thing
>>
>>64920124
How does it detonate the front impact fuse when it rams from the rear? Actually curious. Some sort of resonance?
>>
>>64920131
How many drone interceptors have you seen launched by hand meaning they can be fired on the move, carried ready to go and launched from scrub / grass?

>>64920144
To make production cheaper a lot of impact fuses are just 2 bare wires that bend and touch closing the firing circuit.
My best guess is the target has one of those and the impact made the wires shake enough to touch.
>>
>>64920101
So the interceptor drones Ukrainians have been using then.
>>
>>64920158
See >>64920152
Form factor matters a lot, a big tail-sitter than can't be launched from long grass is a lot less useful than this which can be issued like AT to anyone.
>>
>>64920152
Considering that 90% of targets fly higher and also fly at night I don’t see how that’s big benefit
>>
>>64920186
>be moving towards zero line
>get spotted by FPV
>there is not advantage to having a hard counter ready to launch
>>
>>64920196
Based on video provided fpv will kill you before you use that hard counter
>>
>>64920186
this is obviously a last line of defense weapon other than panic firing at an incoming drone with your service weapon
>>
>>64920196
So it’s like shotgun but much worse
>>
>>64920234
i'll bite. where can i buy a radar guided shotgun with a 1000 meter effective range?
>>
>>64918851
>Drone-shooting gun

Neat. When do we get programmable bullet sized drones with explosive tips?

The drone being shot down isn't an FPV its one of those big boy long distance types. They're huge and fly slow (relatively speaking). An FPV will spot and hit you long before you take the shitty launcher out and set it up.
>>
>>64918851
If americans brought back the gatling guns to shoot down kamikaze planes, why not make buckshot for gatlings and just kick clouds of ball bearings?
>>
>>64920248
Against fpv drones shotgun has
>much faster target acquisition
>much higher ammo capacity, you miss once you can try again
You’re not going to spot fpv drone with your eyeballs 1km away
>>
>>64920205
Based on the video it launches after 2 seconds, we have no idea how long it takes to lock before the video starts.

>>64920293
I'm not saying this specific model is peak counter drone, I am saying this form factor has a lot of potential for refinement, better optics, manual locking options ect.
>long before you take the shitty launcher out and set it up
You can carry it at low ready, what setup?"
>>
>>64920331
>You can carry it at low ready, what setup?"
Odd place to have a quotation point but I'll bite: Because infantry need to carry an actual weapon and having guys who are constantly visually scanning the air is a waste of manpower.

>Odd place to have a quotation point
Look at your keyboard, I fat fingered the ?
>Because infantry need to carry an actual weapon and having guys who are constantly visually scanning the air is a waste of manpower
Yeah, 5km from a static front you need rifles up at all times. Just ignore they largest threat in that area because anon says so.
>>
>>64920331
I don’t see how it’s good against FPV drones.
They are small, extremely manoeuvrable and you quite often don’t have that much time to target them. Automatic shotguns and rifles with anti-fpv ammo will work much better against specifically fpv drones
>>
>>64920386
>Just ignore they largest threat in that area because anon says so.
You shouldn't have a frontline to begin with. Either achieve air superiority overwhelmingly or go home.
>>
>>64920393
As I said I like the form factor not this model, give it a FLIR camera and monitor on the launcher and it's a cheap Javelin CLU.

>>64920399
You think the Taliban with FPVs as well as IEDs wouldn't be a threat because there was no front?

The /po/ influx stands out because of how stupid you lot are.
>>
>>64920412
>Oh yeah but what about *pointless forever war*?!?!?!
>>
>>64918851
Well that's probably going to end up in COD later.
>>
>>64920426
>my country is so strong we don't have fronts
>please ignore every frontless war we have lost
The American military is great at dealing with militaries in conventional warfare, see the Gulf War, they are terrible at dealing with frontless wars, see Vietnam & Afghanistan.
>>
>>64920331
>You can carry it at low ready, what setup?
Cool, you've destroyed one fpv. What about the half a dozen others heading to make you the highlight of madyar's daily reel?
>>
>>64920493
As I said issue them like AT to everyone.
>but then the 7th drone hits you
Better than the first and buys you time to find cover.
>>
>>64920500
It doesn't lol, they know where you are.
>>
>>64920508
Great point, might as well go with the zigger approach, decide an infantryman is worth less than an enemy FPV and consider each casualty a strategic victory.
>>
>>64920517
Which kinda defeats the point of these single-use interceptors, that being saving lives. Just do the good ol "broads will birth more" approach.
>>
>>64920549
We'll have to see them deployed at scale to know how effective they are, my money is on guys 5km+ from the attacking drone team it'll be very effective just due to the time it takes for a replacement to get there.
As I have said with a decent FLIR and monitor on the launcher it could spot an FPV before it's analog camera sees them.
>>
>>64920412
I’d rather have network of dedicated teams with radars and 8-16 drones in stock to shoot down approaching drones than this variant
>>
>>64920292
>When do we get programmable bullet sized drones with explosive tips?
And more importantly, what does the little red button on the side of the drone launcher do?
>>
>>64920412
>The /po/ influx
Those perfidious paperfuckers!
