what do you guys think of outdoor themed drag queen Pattie Gonia? She's getting sued by the actual company Patagonia.

Regardless, the company’s lawsuit claims that the performer sows “confusion” by using her similar-sounding drag name while advertising her services, which include “motivational speaking services in support of environmental sustainability” and “organizing, arranging, and conducting trail and hiking events.”
Late last year, the performer hiked 100 miles in drag to raise $1 million for inclusive outdoors groups. Last May, she demonstrated against the current presidential administration’s anti-trans policies by flying the largest trans flag ever displayed in a national park. Last February, she also gave a historic TED Talk in drag on why joy is critical to political resistance.
In 2024, the current presidential administration featured her in a hateful political ad — she used the ad to raise $15,000 for trans people. In November 2023, iconic cellist Yo-Yo Ma worked with her and a transgender singer on an inspiring song about the climate.

In 2022, the company discovered that the drag performer was discussing a fundraising partnership with Hydroflask and The North Face, one of Patagonia’s business competitors.
In response, Patagonia told the performer that it would allow her to use her drag name for activism, but not for commercial sales. Patagonia said she should not print her name “in any form” or use the company’s font on any products. At the time, Pattie Gonia’s representatives said it would “take note” of the company’s wishes, but never explicitly agreed to them.

The best I can do for drag queens is feel nothing at all.
If I were actually to care, I could only hate.
The fact that so many cis people confuse drag culture for trans culture really jiggles my niggles.

Also queer culture gets mistaken for trans alot. When i came out to my mom, she later showed me some women with a beard later. And i cringed. She said its so confusing. I wish all the faggots would stop. I mean faggot as is loud gay men. I dont want to have a strobe light on my head!

Youre either thinking of "gender conforming" as in conforming to the gender you were assigned at birth, or mistaking nonbinaries or queers for trans. I want to conform to female gender despite being born male. Im not a pot stirrer. Im not trying to change the zeigeist. I just want to be a woman.

Yeah it's actually really bad atm in Melbourne because "trans inclusivity" so often literally just means "drag queen trivia night" or some shit like that. And even in supposedly trans spaces (as in not LGBTQIA+, but just for trans) it's just that pride lite, disco culture bullshit.
I was sitting at a trans event, on one side of me is a young trans man who's favorite band is Bullet for my Valentine, and other the other side is an older trans woman who's favorite band is Metalica, and so naturally they play ABBA at a volume that is way way way way way too loud for autistic people with noise sensitivity.
And I am absolutely fine with queer culture and drag queen culture and fag culture and all of it existing, what I'm not fine is with people patting themselves on the back for being inclusive of me while making spaces that are absolutely toxic for me.

Social expectations to be a "man". Not being able to wear cute clothes and makeup. Having a man chin and jaw, adams apple and facial hair, and shoulders, and narrow hips, and being ugly, and idk what your asking anymore. My brain spirals at that point.

Im okay with everyone being themselves, i just dont want to be part of some show or circus, i want to be a woman in the crowd. The more attention drawn to trans this and that in the news, by both sides, its just draws more unwanted attention to an already very awkward and difficult time, transitioning.

NTA but because she's not a male.
It's as simple as that.
Her brain is not for doing male things in a male way and to handle the expectations of maleness.
Her brained is wired for female.
Feminism and Gender Theory can fuck right off.

Your right its not, which is why im doing that. But also, HRT helps me fit my bras better and cute clothes fit better. Lazer hair removal and FFS makes the makeup go on easier and hair look better. Voice training helps blend in the whole aesthetics.

Male/female is genes. Man/woman/he/she is gender.
Im a transgender. Not a transexual.
My genetics are male. My gender is woman. Im not retarded.

No what you are is internalizing transphobia. It's the same as talking about your "biological sex", when what you actually mean is your genetic sex, while completely ignoring your neurological sex, both of which are parts of your biology.
I, as in the I in the sentence I think therefor I am, am female.
I am female.
It is my body that is wrong, not my brain.

> It is my body that is wrong, not my brain.
Well that is true. But my body is genetic. Im choosing to be a eunuch male in order to present as a woman (or whatever that other nona said about being a male wearing cute clothes somehow without being assaulted).
>>
>>42830463
Except your brain, and more importantly your mind, are female. You are female. You just have a male body.
They say you were born male, they're wrong. You were born trans, which is a female nervous system attached to a male endocrine system. But the nervous system has the "you" in it.

I appreciate the affirmations, reading and repeating all those things feels good! Ngl.
But female-brain vs male-brain is not real. Theyre just brains, with scan differences being from cultural, learned, and hormone related. Its also largely disproven gayness or trans or any of the LGBTQs is genetic. In large genetic association studies (using statistics to find likely genetic links) highest variance was 25%. Which means less than 1/4 of all LGBTQs is statistically possible to be genetic caused.
This doesnt necessarily mean no gays/LGBTQs are born, or it can be cured or removed, or simply willed away, but it means something outside of genetics is the cause of trans and the other letters.

>But female-brain vs male-brain is not real. Theyre just brains
This is not true. There is clear differences in post-mortem autopsies of transgender brains compared to their cisgender counterparts.
> it means something outside of genetics is the cause of trans
We know what causes trans. In the case of trans women the brain fails to masculinize properly in the 3rd trimester of pregnacy. This could have a genetic component, but the most likely cause is encocrine disruptive chemicals the mother is exposed to at around that time.
The Y-chromosome doesn't actually do that much. The main thing it does is turn ovaries into testicles in the first trimester. After that it's hormones that do all the work. So if the amniotic sack doesn't have the right hormone balance in the third trimester when the brain develops, you get a girl brain instead of a boy brain even though you've got a Y-chromosome.
Now obviously female nervous system plus male endocrine system = fucked up. That dog won't hunt. So you've got two options:
1. You can alter the nervous system to be more male. If the technology to do this is even possible, it certainly doesn't exist. But if it did exist it would effective you as a personality and replace you with a new personality, who would be cisgender, but would not be you.
2. We alter the endocrine system to be more male, a technology so straightforward we've had it for at least 6,000 years.
Medical affirmation as part of gender affirming care today, mostly involves altering the endocrine system to be more female. Suppression of testosterone and introduction of estrogen and progesterone to function as the ovaries which aren't present. Once that's done, you now a female endocrine system attached to a female nervous system.
What part of that isn't "biologically female"?

Please stop.
Your slurry of largely untrue scientific claims containing only little nuggets of truth, cannot be sewn together to prove anything your saying.
Also we live in a post-AI world, this reddit tier "science" distortion tactic doesnt work, when I can dump verbatum what you said into it and get each cases study for and against your claim. If you want me to go point for point i can, but im going to sleep now.

i think this is truly the most revelatory of your worldview.
what do you think it means to have a brain? straight forward question, i know, but the answer may vary quite a bit depending on who you ask. some people's definition (like yours) treats the brain almost like the cartesian idea of a soul, a distinct structure from both our bodies and the "souls" of those around us.
another definition is to treat the brain as a cybernetic structure, composed of many interrelated spectra. for example, there is a hormonal aspect that contributes to the second-by-second impulses of daily brain activity.
there is also the aspect of memory which acts as both a catalog of previous interactions and predictor of future ones by dedicating certain neurons to the storage of information.
thirdly, there is a distinct social aspect, by which your parasympathetic nervous system organizes systems of information through emotional affecting, linguistic articulation, and the learning and breaking of social norms that constitutes day-to-day life for most humans.
the number and relationship of all these separate machinations which constitute the singular organ which we label "the brain" and, by extension, the human experience, are so vast and uncharted that to assume one could distinctly slot the emergent phenomenon of consciousness into 2, or 4, or 13, or 72 perfect categories is pure fantasy.
the term "female nervous system" could mean so many different things in so many different contexts that it is nearly meaningless, redundant, tautological. you might as well say "the green nervous system" or "the pizza nervous system", as long as we're just inventing qualifiers for existence
