Fritz Fargo is a hard pass from me bc abandoned stories are the absolute worst, even more so one which war quite good before the author left it. Its been dead for 5 years now.

Its not THAT good also its extremely aged and it shows. Its so extremely a 2010s comic.
All things considered its fairly decent, which made it a standout while it was still ongoing, but it doesnt really hold a candle to the /wcg/ darlings like ARH, TJ&Amal, ootb, or even 9 Stones
Its just a very inoffensive, fangless story that drags on for way too long given its paper thin plot and the fact that it was written by a fujo REALLY shows. The romance is nice and the characters are charming and that makes it worth a read compared to a LOT of things but its nothing special.

The comic reminds me a bit of Asscastle (a groundbreaking and foundational masterpiece revered by this general) in its author's approach to artistic norms, namely a complete and intentional disregard of them - anarcho-estheticism, in a way. The occasional use of collage is another throwback to Asscastle

I noted the author's particular attention to varied framing in the composition of their panels, and I appreciate this effort. Along with the work on colors, often contrasting and sometimes narrative, this attention to framing compensates for the absence of shading, which is not a problem in itself anyway given that it is a valid artistic choice
