Sort of, only goes back to mid 2017, they lost some data. Used to go back to before the /pol/ invasion. We still got the Petterson/Zizek debate though.

>pol/tards have finally fucked off.
You are a literal retard and a newfag if you believe that.

norms have fucked off? oh ya? that must be why we now have a grrm general? a sci-fi fantasy general? a web comic (novel?) general?
if u delete those horrid normie threads, /lit/ traffic is even worse! yes, it is truly over.

And your preferred place to discuss books is..?
>>25113755
Why is more traffic better at the same time people cry about low quality threads?

/lit/ along with the rest of 4chan in 2015. Its never recovered.
/pol/cel newfaggots, reddit refugees, election tourists and youtube cancer killed it.

Barely 2000 posts a day and half of those are
>DAE women can't into reading
or
>What did he mean by this? He's got a point. He's right, you know
>>25113952
They will never leave because it takes 5 seconds to make a shit post that attracts 100+ replies. The only thing that'll stop it is mods removing their posts, but I guess the mods here have some sort of free speech absolutist beliefs because they let even the lowest effort bait stay.

/lit/ has not had a dedicated mod in years, the mods of other boards share the work and none of them are particularly lit so they rely on the jannies. So the goalposts move with every new janny as they try to make /lit/ into their ideal and /lit/ suffers.

Idk, I recently decided to stay here because every other literature platformm online is filled with materialistic aura farming cunts and pretentious leftists who think socialism will solve everything. The general public is typically scared to touch this space so it's a good filter, just as long as you sift through all the bullcrap.

The logical endpoint of this is that this shithle eventually gets flooded with jeets and mudshits and niggers and SEA monkeys and then it will be truely dead when it is nothing but shitskins masturbating to shitty ai porn and telling eachother to kill themselves in broken half English creoles.

>is it over
yes, look at the literacy rates. I'm not sure if you faggots are all new, but this board's quality has taken a sharp nosedive directly into borderline mental retardation over the past 7 years. Posters now seem to be so bereft of any actual rigor. It seems to me that this place has been successfully kikewashed. The most active people here now are below average IQ larpers. It's fucking sad.

The belief that "if one forum dies, another will take its place" ruined my mental health.

Zoomer here. I read.
The thing is women (I'm not chronically online enough to call them foids) have massively moved over to TikTok, where the agenda is incompatible with anything 4chan has to offer.
/lit/ would get you reading books from at least 10 years ago, and mostly good ones.
BookTok is about whatever the new trendy spicy tag for a Dark Romance book (aka porn) is. This and LARP about fictional scenarios in their head, example below
> OMG Trump is banning X, this is why men don't want you to buy books and make a personnal library!! It's freedom, not overconsumption!!
> Look it up
> Book was pulled from the shelves in one local library somewhere, or in one school district
> Look up if they have right-wing controversial books
> Nothing
> Look popular books about misandry, or some shitty unhealthy self-help
> Still there
If we want the next generation to read actually controversial books, or if we want them to have different perspectives, the best way to do so is to go ahead and make tiktoks or funnel them down to niche sites like /lit/.
Not talking about some right-wing book btw, I'm talking about thought-provoking books the average 16yo on BookTok won't hear of. Surprisingly, they don't read classics like Dostoevsky or Camus, for the most part.
Young men catter to self-help, and Young women catter to romance/romantasy. It's pretty damn sad.

Big mistake of mine posting on "literature" without being an actual english speaker.
For some reason I always thought "to catter" meant disproportionately revolving around one thing. Turns out I was spelling it wrong at it indeed meant providing, not wanting something.
But you get my point. Men read lots of bullshit "self-help" because they think it will help them climb the social hierarchy in some way, and women read lots of poor quality romantasy/romance because it will fulfill some fantasies they have.
Now that I think about it, maybe men too are simply looking forward to fulfilling some kind of "power fantasy" when reading Dale Carnegie or Robert Greene.

>one of the biggest boards can barely sustain 2009-levels of activity even with the inclusion of bots
No reason to come to 4chan anymore, it's so fucking boring nowadays. You'd have better luck using i2p

>they don't read classics like Dostoevsky
This one happened, White Nights exploded on tiktok well enough that I actually caught some teenage chick reading through it in mass during the lead-up to Christmas last year. I'd never seen anyone bring a casual book to church before that moment, not even during the Harry Potter and subsequent YA crazes, but I admit I have a shit memory for these things. Crime and Punishment was also pretty popular during the same general time Blood Meridian was making the rounds on the internet
