Hey /lit/.

I've become interested in the Song of Roland but I'm unsure which translation to check out. I've heard this one is good but it's a modern one so I just want to make sure I'm getting a good translation and not an emily wilson version of the story.

I enjoyed the Dorothy Sayers translation, but I’ve heard the Sheridan translation was better.

So this version is good? just wanted to make sure. I'd hate to get through this and find out it's some complete awful version like a lot of modern translations

seconding the dorthoy sayers. don't know sheridan but i recommend against the moncrieff translation, it sounds like a child wrote it.
