This book needs to become an incel symbol, like Notes from the Underground or “Whatever”.

The main character’s neurosis is a little too esoteric for that I think

what a coward, shan't be reading his ramblings

This is what makes Mishima so great though. Peeling the skin open to get at this sort of thing…

what the fuck was his problem actually?

He got a clear path to become a Chad main guy of most important temple in Japan. He could fuck every other day if he went that path. He choose the bad life. Real incel never had a chance to have a good life.

Mishima’s constant inner conflict and early life are why his biography is so interesting to begin with.

Wow what a coward he shouldn't have lied; he could have had the honour of being able to eat half a handful of rice a week and banzai charging an enemy machine gun post!

i just finished reading this and visited the golden pavilion today!!!!

i really liked this book a lot

it didn't really give me the same incel feel as notes from the underground though

his issue wasn't really so much that he was an incel and that girls in general and people in general didn't like him, but that he was prevented from enjoying those things due to the great beauty of the temple

i see what you mean though

If anything, I think the Decay of the Angel is his most incel-core book then Confessions of a Mask.

I don't get it. I am not smart enough for this imho. He writes with a kind of sensibility and preception that is completely foreign to me. I just cannot feel things like he did.

> Notes from the Underground
How does one read this book and thinks "Yeah I'm gonna be just like him."

Rather, we think "Fuck, I am just like him" and makes you want to be different, and also, feel less alone.

So, anon, how did you become a man of action? Haven't finished the book yet on my part, but I sure spend too much time thinking.

The thing with the internet is you'll always find meaningless actions to make. Me talking to you probably won't do anything to my life, for better or for worse. There's no risk and no reward.
