I personally do maintain that this show had a bit of "Sunrise Season Syndrome". Not a lot, but a little. First half to me is honestly 10/10, just fucking insanely high energy with great characters, great moments, drama that feels raw, even a little bit of horror, etc. Then the second season just loses the energy. Bits meander on a bit (did the whole Goh and Anna separation arc need to be like 3 episodes or whatever it felt like?), and the ending feels like they didn't literally know what to do with two major characters (Lou and Mira).

Still, was really good. Just feel like it could have been one of my all time favorites if it just kept up a little bit of the first seasons energy.

I'm afraid I can't give specifics since it's been nearly half a decade since I watched it, but I remember constant bickering aligned with the show constantly showing Goh was not past his previous dead lover but still wanting to be with Anna for reasons I felt were beyond any love of her and Anna putting up with this loveless marriage for her own reasons mostly spitting her mother and wanting to prove the various people who either said it wouldn't work out or that it's just fine that's it not wrong.
I might personally be more sensitive to the discord in their marriage since it actively reminded me of my own parents failing marriage where the two seemingly mostly hate each other but refuse to get a divorce for various reasons.

News flash: people who live together will get on eachother's nerves and have disagreements once in a while, that's being human. What we see in the show, gentle wholesome arguments based around real legitimate problems that get resolved quickly and lovingly is unironically the best you can hope for in any kind of relationship.
