any good recent Mecha Musume shows?

Symphogear - liked
Infinite Stratos - dropped before the whole harem got formed because everyone sucked so hard
Busou Shinki - liked the mini series/OVA, could not get into the TV series

If you didn't like the Busou Shinki TV series, perhaps you'd prefer Frame Arms Girl?

sell me on this

The new Blue Archive update is pretty fun.

>>23736582
NTA but I preferred FAG over Shinki. It took itself less seriously and was more focused on the mecha aspect with more combat and light touches on Plamo as a hobby while Shinki is kinda more like a standard harem series with a gimmick of the characters being plamo.
Wasn't in love with FAG but it gave me more of what I was looking for in these sort of series. More comedy, more mecha stuff. Though I'd prefer if the designs were used for a normal story.

shame it's BA

>harem series

People keep saying this when the tv show was airing but the supposed male MC is barely a character in the story and the show is more or less hamtaro in its format- tiny creatures go to world of adventure. There is no harem element any where

If anything FAG was more harem like in the style.

BS anime was a better show
>>
>>23736832
The male MC barely is present but is still the primary motivating factor for the Shinkis across most of the plots.
Whether or not one or the other is better is down to opinion, they both have different strengths and weaknesses and I found that FAG was more enjoyable when I was like the anon and not really into Shinki.

Extended maintenance.

I really wish they continued making Busou Shinki Battle Masters games. It was a bit grindy but still fun, if they improved the battle system to be faster like Gundam vs. Gundam it could have been perfect.

Would love to see an anime featuring Lovecacao's mecha musume designs.

I gotta say, I love the character designs of Masou Gakuen HxH, specifically Aine and Yurishia. I like how minimalist yet sexy their leotards are. The mecha part, not so much.
>>
>>23738230
Also, never forget the real star of the show. The borderline-hentai ecchi scenes.

FAG has a better human companion.

I've semi recently played through Dolls Nest yet again, this time on hard mode and with RavenTweaks mod (among others), and to be honest, it made an already decent game even better. It's fairly short and sweet yet it somehow scratches the combined itch comprised of old gen Armored Core gameplay and customization, Dark Souls flavored three dee metroidvania and Nihei's patented brand of megastructural goodness. Beyond this one singular absolute banger of a game, I have exactly zero interest in anything musume, and even that is purely incidental. But boy oh boy, is that game good.

On a cursory glance, 30 Minute Sisters seems fairly interesting, given the customization the series has going for it has potential to allow you to hotglue together your perfect cumjar resident.

Basically a naked body set. Not gonna fly even without nips. Might be why I now want this Grande Scale Ao.

>>23749918
There are no mods on /m/ though.

first time i've heard this game described in a way that makes me want to play it

I really enjoyed Dolls Nest. Glad to hear that there's a patch out there that addresses how weak most of the weapons are even with the constant patches buffing them.

Just remove ammo as a game mechanic honestly. I dont even know why its a game mechanic in a science fantasy setting where we can materialize new weapons and armor out of thin air. Its closer to dark souls in terms of atmosphere and implied environmental storytelling than armored core.

Both Armored Core and Dark Souls have limited ranged ammo, be it, well, ammo or casts. I can see why it's limited, your cutest little murderdrone can carry only so much of the heavy metalic liquid to magically transfigure into ammo or frame's structural integrity. Although giving the player just twice the amount would probably alleviate a lot of grief I have when it comes to actually utilizing ranged options. Same with cutting the cooldown on the melee weapons in half, now there wouldn't be any need to carry two sharpened pieces of metal to poke or slash with, so maybe, just maybe, carrying, not to mention using, a hand held firearm outside of that one helicopter boss fight would be an option.

Dual melee builds look cool though. The only issue with melee in dolls nest is that they don't connect when within range. So you end up getting a phantom miss at point blank range. Melee implementation peaked with how dead simple it was with Halo. You get close enough, your melee magnetizes to the target and you actually feel like melee is a viable strategy.

Unlike modern games like Dolls nest where they don't even think of this at all cause its all style over substance/fun. Its never fun to swing dual swords or a big hammer just to have it miss while clipping through the enemy mesh cause the hitbox was smaller than the actual model and doesn't magnetize to the target like even dark souls has a weak version of. Most noticeable when you land a heavy killing hit on an enemy.

As for the flying bosses, could just add energy slashes to the melee weapons to make them viable all around with some range to them. Not exactly an alien concept to japnese mecha. Gundam does that all the time.

Always the same generic fleshling looking gynoids with cool looking mechanical parts wasted on. I'd like to see more of the same type as the picrel instead.

Brother, from the neck down that thing could easily pass as a Frame Arms Girl in a full body suit.
You just like different head designs.

DXMTS arguably passes as a mecha-musume game, and I've made a mod (on the usual mod place for mods) for it that fixes the stupid long arms you get if you keep arm "parts" equipped with a human body, so I feel like it's worth a shill now. Although I really should have done it while it was still on sale.
Pretty high cool factor otherwise, even if some of the design choices are questionable.

>>23736570
arcanadea was supposed to air soon but no news yet
starward also pretty good as a exvs clone

one of the more recent musume they added for starward

Uh, mecha?

eh,only related part is its Sci-Fi Fantasy settings

The easiest fix would be to just make enemies always drop ammo instead of only dropping it on weakpoint kills.
