Since it's a new thread, I'll repeat that I'd definitely like to see the new Sentai monster art books scanned, since the last(?) one just came out. I've managed to confirm that they have some art that wasn't in the earlier editions.
>>
Quick reminder that DiscoTek will be releasing Zegapain in the US soon which will include both movies, ADP has crabstick tier subs and STA has not ne, ripping those will be necessary.
>>
Incredibly tasteful pic OP, Sano is such a national treasure tier animator.
>>
>>23749222
The Sano trio.
>>
>>23749453
Fuck yes!! I really liked Zegapain, but the movies have always been untranslated or horrible crabsticks. Great news!
>>
>>23749534
Not often I see green being used as the main protagonist's primary mecha color.
>>
>>23749537
Oh no it's this retard again.

Huh?

Man I wish we all had the money to just fucking pay people to sub stuff.

Did anyone save Magical Ensign Blaster Mari before it was nuked from mangadex?
Trafalgarlog doesn't seem to upload anywhere else or maintain a releases archive.
>>
>>23750703
You already said this, have you tried getting a job?
>>
>>23750703
I have that type of money but I know at least one anon on this board who would actively try to sabotage any release. Besides, how many of you anons would actively try something like Inazuman Flash, Mighty Jack, Mach Baron, or Vifam 13? I could pay a translator and reactions would be limited to "fuck off", "this sucks", or "but an ad".
>>
>>23751148
Oh you are just samefagging waiting for someone to go "please do it!!!" for epic up votes.
>>
>>23751161
Sorry anon, but I'm not. Responses like yours are why I say "not worth it". /m/ got so hostile in the past nine years.
>>
>>23751140
Or perhaps even learning moon if you really care that much?
>>
>>23751189
You are just pity begging.
>>
>>23751140
If you had a job you'd know you can't commission subs and pay rent at the same time.
>>
>>23751256
Get a better job walmart-kun.

We used to be the nicest board of 4chan, I hate what the community has become. If I was motivated enough, I'd just learn Japanese myself.

If you guys are actually serious about this stuff, get in contact with actual fansubbing groups like msubs, Inka, or LonelyChaser (preferably on discord since that's the easiest avenue these days). The people there can point you to good translators and help with the rest of the project.

There's an innate distrust against randos (particularly on 4chan) with subbing stuff since there's no guarantee that they'll actually know what they're doing, so there may be obvious issues with their stuff, etc. - simply getting to talk to people who do know can get you quite far.

I saw recently that the Daicon 4 artbook was uploaded. Did anything interesting get revealed? One thing that's always confused me is that the wikipedia summary for daicon says the sword the girl rides on is Stormbringer (from Elric) but there's nothing that explicitly names it as such so I'm not really sure if that's something someone made up or not. Anyone know the answer? I'd love to see a comprehensive list of all the references in Daicon 3 and 4.

23747634 here. I actually do have some experience with the entire process that I'd be happy to show to any potential collaborators. It's just that I can't do (or re-do in this case) Gulkeeva properly by myself.

I appreciate your reply and will be contacting someone there soon and see what we can do about this show.
>>
>>23751148
I'd honestly be down for someone to take a look at the Magnet Robo series that aren's Steel Jeeg - Gowapper V Godam, Gakeen, and Balatack. They've received by far the least attention from translators of the "golden age of Super Robots" shows, and from what I can tell nobody's working on them currently, not even the crabbiest crabstick.

You're obvious a newfag and weren't around back then, it's depressing to see how far this community has fallen.

Anyone have OSTs for Panzer World Galient?

Nothing at my usual spots

suggest to add https://annas-archive.li/ and https://z-lib.gd as part of the book backup effort
they some decent stuff if the link on OP didn't have them

not sure if it fits this thread, but do these kind of guides even get made anymore? I'm sure there's some reddit equivalent but these /m/ ones were the best, could be nice to keep with all the archives
>>
>>23756195
I don't think so, new mecha anime is rare, so there isn't any need to make new ones or update existing ones.

That Ingram's head kinda looks like L-Gaim

does encodergasm's ideon have something over the BD based releases like sxales? the spreadsheet still points to EG but unless there's a major issue with the new stuff it seems superseded
>>
Are there any potential seeders for (G_P) Panzer World Galient TV? And no, I won't be downloading the 37GB version linked in the archive, I have limited bandwidth, monthly transfer and storage space.

Site wide spammer forcing his shitty plebeian opinions everywhere he can as if they were fact or somehow a general consensus from whichever board he is posting in, which is why he claims some shitty wikia he controls is "the board's wiki" (it isn't and nobody treats it as such except for him). It doesn't help that he has an extremely obnoxious and childish writing style that makes him stand out like a sore thumb whenever he decides to show up. And this isn't even getting into the more controversial takes he has.
>>
>>23757469
>sitewide
>has a wikia
the answer was no, I shouldn't have asked
>>
>>23757469
>plebeian opinions
I don't even know what that word means.
>as if they were fact or somehow a general consensus
The chart represents the board's consensus, and it's based on extensive strawpolling. It's not just my opinion, and that's why it also features shows I actively dislike.
>which is why he claims some shitty wikia he controls is "the board's wiki"
I don't control the wikia, Yapool does, but it is in fact /m/'s official wiki. When there is no competition, you win automatically.

EG's latest Ideon release is encoded from BD, and it still handsomely beats sxales (that guy is a retard who can't encode and sometimes fucks up subtitles too - avoid his releases at all costs).
It has been superseded by better encodes though. E.g. ZetaRebel's encode will look better than EG (who held to the rule that 16mm film = 720p, which has no basis in reality and just gimps video quality), and it has both PGS and Hidive subs instead of an OCR of the DVD subs (though dialogue should be mostly the same).

For the movies, grab ZetaRebel if you're on AB (they're not on nyaa for some reason), or Hack-Job like the spreadsheet says. ZetaRebel has official subs for the movies, Hack-Job has old fansubs.

>>23757325
I really hope you figure out something that lets you download modern releases. The Inka releases has better subs and way better video - there's a reason G_P went unseeded.
>>
>>23757672

many such cases, why does god allow this

Yeah but 37GB for a 25 episode series? Come on.
>>
>>23758605
~1.5 GB for something with the detail and animation of Galient isn't bad.
>>
>>23757754
People usually don't care about quality and just go for the most seeded release for best speed

So Sentai Filmworks just confirmed they have licensed L-Gaim and intend to release it in the United States, no idea why nobody on this board is talking about it.

What's the exact difference between that and just procuring a digital copy from a cat site? Will there be any improvements over what's already available or is it just a physical medium thing? If anything, I'm more interested in FSS manga getting a long overdue serialization in the west, to be honest. And still waiting for a Gothicmade home release.

>>
>>23763000
Did they request access to the available film stock and do a proper rescan? No.
Sunrise already released their shitty upscale and it sucked. An official English release of a dodgy upscale is not very exciting.

Tangentially-related news, but also bad news for archiving nonetheless: Myrient will be gone by the end of March, so you want to procure video games that can't be easily found elsewhere, now it's the time.

These are the same - this BD rescan isn't a new development, it's been out for a year, well before the Sentai announcement. This is what Sentai will be using most likely.
>>
any thoughts on the recent [Joseki] gundam encodes? a modern size saving release sourced straight from hchcsen sounds nice on paper if you don't want to drop 300 gigs on ZZ or V or rely on decade old EG releases
at a glance definitely looks more competent than sxales for roughly the same size but I'm not really an expert

The xsales releases are so heavily denoised and way too heavy on the sharpening too. Anything has to better then those.
