Rain's character design was originally meant to be one of Chibidi's American Cheerleader girls from New York.

Domon originally had a more traditional looking Japanese girl love interest from Neo Japan. But the Director didn't like how she looked and tossed her design out.

So the Director literally took one of Chibidi's girls (Rain) and just copy-pasted her as Domon's love interest instead. They didn't even change Rain's American design. They kept everything the same.
