Why did it fail?

Because it wasn't good.

Did it fail, or did it just finish as intended with no plans for a follow-up?

They were expecting a pretty big merch push. I suppose in that sense it fell short. But you can never predict what will be a merch hit. I thought it picked up pretty neat.

>>23760219
The merch not going through is just because of bland designs more than anything, I would assume.
>>
Learning the entire conflict is just Osmosis Jones in Space deflated interest in the show.

The emperor was the best character

I'm glad this meant the figuarts for Elsha and co are extremely cheap

I found them going for under 1000 yen brand new after a year

The story and twist were meh

I think it's mostly because 2021 was fucking packed anime wise. A lot of popular shows were airing concurrently with both cours, even as a mecha show it had to compete with Dynazenon for attention for its second cour.

No robots, not /m/
>>
never heard of it

It's the best mecha show of the 2020s so far. Give it a watch. Director of Code Geass, writer of TTGL, and the show kinda does feel like what you would get if you tried to combine both shows

If they aren't robots, they wouldn't have made Robot Spirit figures >>23760394

Dynazenon is the best mecha show of the 2020s so far.
>>
>>23762043
Dynazenon has literally zero interesting or redeeming qualities outside of the mecha fights.
Back Arrow is about a chad, Dynazenon is about a simp, the difference in quality couldn't be more clear

>>23762366
Mujina makes Dynazenon a good series.

bad character designs

No idea why, this show fucking ruled. I slept on it and only watched it a few years back, and kicking myself for not seeing it sooner.
>>
I vaguely recall it as a hodge-podge of fantasy kung fu magic sorta robots and girls or something?
Kinda like that Onmyo whatever from the other season
just sorta okay but not that remarkable good or bad
>>
Something about Back Arrow just feels soulless to me. I really want to love it and it has some great moments, but it feels too much like the writers just wanted to throw in all their favorite over the top super robot moments like TTGL obviously but there's also Getter Robo and one shot that is frame for frame G Gundam. TTGL felt like a great twist on its obvious influences, Back Arrow just doesn't.

Dynazenon somehow managed to make a giant dinosaur robot be boring whilst shitting all over everything that made Gridman great.
>>
Because it was boring and dumb.

And then he makes himself even more badass by reverting back to his younger self and then wielding the MC like a sword.
He was easily the most fun character.

And to say nothing about Bit's turn around
>>
>>23762770
He did take multiple levels in badass in a insanely short time.

It was fun.

It was okay. Had a couple of neat moments but it also felt oddly lacking in focus. It was like they were trying to make all the wackier parts of Gun X Sword into an entire show.
