Mecha became just like westoid slop now, just remakes, reboots and legacy sequels...

Congratulations for falling prey to /m/'s gaslighting that mecha is anything but toy and waifu commercials.

That's the key here, these americans don't care about anything they just love complaining.

I'm excited

All these revivals reminds me of in the 00's they were doing revivals of classic Super Robot series, like Mazinger, Dancouga, Jeeg, etc.
I don't get why I should be upset before any come out.
>>
>>23761980
cause burgers are retards who have been raped by star wars and nu hollywood so they carry their baggage to other fandom
>>
>>23761937
At least superheroes are design to go on forever and they have a bunch of end points, most mecha isn't design like that Gundam and Macross aside.
>>
>>23761985
Believe me, I get that a lot of modern shit sucks, which is the reason companies east and west keep going back to older classics. I'm still interested to see what comes because not everything has to release as shit.

I love looking back at the 00's, for both original and revival series, because that was when I was at my most active during my teens years. Those stuff are what got me into mecha. A potential new boom even if some stuff ends up mediocre or bad is still something I look forward too.
>>
>>23761987
Anno wants to be like Gundam. Others want to be like Gundam.
Any mecha series can become a brand like Gundam.
>>
>>23761957
>new mecha anime
Sort of missing the point there. Even the 'newest' of these series is 20 years old at this point
>>
>>23761937
I'm glad Muv Luv is dead, because it'll never get this kind of treatment.
>>
At least they aren't trying to ruin Eureka Seven further, i think they crashed that plane with no survivors already.
>>
The next franchise to get a new anime series.

Always has been idiot. I bet you're one of those joyless edgelords that thinks all media should die and we should all just work 9 to 5s being miserable.
>>
>>23761957
OP is a faggot for posting this shit meme, especially as RLM are the exact same as the annoying nerds they are trying to parody, but you can't blame him for being cynical over this shit. Like, there's a constant stream of revival shit in Hollywood and none of it is good. Why should we believe the Japanese are going to be any different? Most original modern anime sucks and is creatively bankrupt.
I am optimistic for VOTOMS and will be excited for Macross if Kawamori is involved, but aside from that I really wish they would come up with something original instead.

I enjoyed NuWataru. Not big on Grendizer, thoughever.
>>
>>23762058
My mistake, I should really have faith in a country that produced an anime about being reincarnated as a vending machine in an isekai world. Get over yourself you dumb faggot, Japan is clearly suffering from the same creative rot as the west.

>>

>Japan is clearly suffering from the same creative rot as the west.
Yoko Taro is massively emblematic of this sort of thing and they just gave him Evangelion.
>>
>>23762061
>I should really have faith in a country that produced an anime about being reincarnated as a vending machine in an isekai world.
Isn't that taking the piss out of isekai? I can't imagine a premise like that being anything but parody. You couldn't have picked one of the gorillion isekais that are ripping off Log Horizon or SAO to prove your point?
>>23762066
It was an alright show for being bootleg Front Mission, and I love the mechanical designs. On that front alone it was a success considering they still put out kits occasionally and I think the only grunt that didn't a get kit was the Russian one. But I think the kits were all more successful than the show itself.
>>
>>23762021
Isn't the Muv Luv gacha putting up insane numbers in Japan? Might end up leading to the series coming back again in some kind of form. Kouki is still very engaged with it as well.
>>
I can't even fathom how genuinely mentally ill you'd have to be to care about Evangelion after the 90s. It isn't about artists trying to express emotions or idea, it's just some existing product made to sell shit. Even if it's semi-decent it still wouldn't have a piece of soul or personality.
>>
>>23762182
Spoken like a true Netflix bab.
>>
>>23761937
>new Rayearth
Is it though?
>>
>>23762066
The model kits themselves were awesome. You can tell Bandai Hobby put a ton of effort into them. Too bad Sunrise Beyond didn't get the memo and shat out the most generic mecha anime ever. It's borderline algorithmic. Noboru Kimura should not be allowed to write anime anymore.

I guess Valvrave was the most successful of the 2010s attempts at making a "not-Gundam". But, even then, that's mostly a shitpost thing.

>>23762210
Remake. I'd imagine it'll be more faithful to the manga this time around.
>>
>>23761957
None of this shit is new, all of it is going to be worse versions of stuff I've already seen.
>>
>>23762038
Things should end and new things should be made, instead things never end and with every new iteration they just get diluted into sludge.
>>
>>23762172
No, Vending Machine is generic isekai slop, the only difference being the protagonist is a fucking vending machine.
>>

Of course you will, you'll be posting in every thread for the show.
>>
>>23761937
Three direct failures in a row from Bandai made original mecha anime a lost art, leading to this endless string of remakes, including non-/m/ remake stuff.
>>
>>23761937
Literally everything on this list except Rayearth didnt have new entries already
>>
Getter Robo Arc was alright at least

Would people suddenly remember Granbelm or MJP if they get a remake/sequel and complain about "can't beat the classic"?

Is this why /a/ despise you guys nowadays? Because you people are less pessimistic than them?

After seeing "New Things" from Chinese, Koreans and Most of Japan. I think i'd love to stuck in the past forever, I won't live forever anyway

Except for the new Eva, how is this different from the past exactly? Like every single show you mentioned has already had new entries

Remake that's likely adapting the manga closer.

>anime selling out is different!
>b-because it’s Japan!
>y-you have to love it because it’s Japanese!
If you only read 4chan boards you’d think the Japanese are some higher power race and not just human beings like everyone else. Anons just project their own opinions onto a country of 120+ million people as if they’re a monolith that happens to agree with said anon on every topic. And then they’ll use that projection to say “well you HAVE to agree with m- I mean the Japanese. Why? Because they’re Japanese!” and most of the time the popular opinion over there is the opposite of what that anon is saying it is.

Meanwhile said anon doesn’t know anything about Japan, its history or its culture, but he say some cartoons from that country so now he’s convinced that every Japanese person agrees with him on everything and must be defended at all costs.

Japan isn’t a real place or people to weebs, it’s a made up land you can make into whatever you want in your mind.

>>23764603

>>23764577

>>
>>23764459
Nah
>>
>>23762046
>>23762061
The issue is more that Japan has remained pretty risk adverse after the bubble popped back in the 90s. It's tougher to sell a new concept/IP that isn't guaranteed to make money, than it is to just sell a remake/remaster/retelling or adaptation of an existing IP that is more likely to make money.
>>
>>23761937
I noticed that myself but here's the thing: I checked out years ago.

aight
>>
>>23764603
What forced hate? Everyone I know is going to Japan on holidays, even non-weebs. And furthermore, what an infantile way to view the world. Japan is a country like any other. There's a lot of good things and a lot of bad things. They have great working conditions but a terrible work culture. They have a fascinating history but a depressing present and future. Anime is a wonderful medium with a lot of potential but it is falling into the same trappings as Hollywood with endless nostalgia shite or terrible isekai LN adapts, and really has been on the decline since the 00s.
>>
>>23765036
There’s always room for improvement, they can make a better future
>>
>>23762172
>But I think the kits were all more successful than the show itself.

Isn't that normal? The kits succeding is the show succeeding. They're toy commercials.
>>
>>23761957
you are not supporting a genre by being happy about stagnation and cheap cash grabs

having said that im interested in the new eva lol
>>
>>23765036

Pretend to be retarded long enough and you will turn into the real thing.

>>
>>23761937
There's tons of new mecha shows coming out every year, but they're standard fare, so naturally casual fans don't pay attention to them, because it's not the mecha aspect they (including you) enjoy.
You want something that "deconstructs mecha" and so does everyone else, that's why the shows that did just that are getting revivals/re-imaginings.

I see, so you hate franchises.
Did you support new and original mecha anime?
>>
>>23761937
>new Gundam
>new Votoms
>new Macross
Don't these franchises get new shit every few years anyway? They're operating as usual and you're upset that they're doing what they always do? Would you bitch about Braves getting new entries every year in the 90s? Do you get upset whenever Getter gets a new reimagining? Does Precure, Sentai, Kamen Rider and Ultraman existing upset you?
>>
Better this than the genre just being on life support like the first half of this decade.

2010's weren't exactly stellar either.
