Believe me, I get that a lot of modern shit sucks, which is the reason companies east and west keep going back to older classics. I'm still interested to see what comes because not everything has to release as shit.
I love looking back at the 00's, for both original and revival series, because that was when I was at my most active during my teens years. Those stuff are what got me into mecha. A potential new boom even if some stuff ends up mediocre or bad is still something I look forward too.

The next franchise to get a new anime series.

OP is a faggot for posting this shit meme, especially as RLM are the exact same as the annoying nerds they are trying to parody, but you can't blame him for being cynical over this shit. Like, there's a constant stream of revival shit in Hollywood and none of it is good. Why should we believe the Japanese are going to be any different? Most original modern anime sucks and is creatively bankrupt.
I am optimistic for VOTOMS and will be excited for Macross if Kawamori is involved, but aside from that I really wish they would come up with something original instead.

My mistake, I should really have faith in a country that produced an anime about being reincarnated as a vending machine in an isekai world. Get over yourself you dumb faggot, Japan is clearly suffering from the same creative rot as the west.

Isn't that taking the piss out of isekai? I can't imagine a premise like that being anything but parody. You couldn't have picked one of the gorillion isekais that are ripping off Log Horizon or SAO to prove your point?

It was an alright show for being bootleg Front Mission, and I love the mechanical designs. On that front alone it was a success considering they still put out kits occasionally and I think the only grunt that didn't a get kit was the Russian one. But I think the kits were all more successful than the show itself.

I can't even fathom how genuinely mentally ill you'd have to be to care about Evangelion after the 90s. It isn't about artists trying to express emotions or idea, it's just some existing product made to sell shit. Even if it's semi-decent it still wouldn't have a piece of soul or personality.

The model kits themselves were awesome. You can tell Bandai Hobby put a ton of effort into them. Too bad Sunrise Beyond didn't get the memo and shat out the most generic mecha anime ever. It's borderline algorithmic. Noboru Kimura should not be allowed to write anime anymore.
I guess Valvrave was the most successful of the 2010s attempts at making a "not-Gundam". But, even then, that's mostly a shitpost thing.

Remake. I'd imagine it'll be more faithful to the manga this time around.

Just admit you don't watch any shows, you just get your opinions from /a/ shitposts and youtube shorts.

Call me what you want, I'll come back with a "I told you so" after all of these inevitably turn out to be shit.

>anime selling out is different!
>b-because it’s Japan!
>y-you have to love it because it’s Japanese!
If you only read 4chan boards you’d think the Japanese are some higher power race and not just human beings like everyone else. Anons just project their own opinions onto a country of 120+ million people as if they’re a monolith that happens to agree with said anon on every topic. And then they’ll use that projection to say “well you HAVE to agree with m- I mean the Japanese. Why? Because they’re Japanese!” and most of the time the popular opinion over there is the opposite of what that anon is saying it is.
Meanwhile said anon doesn’t know anything about Japan, its history or its culture, but he say some cartoons from that country so now he’s convinced that every Japanese person agrees with him on everything and must be defended at all costs.
Japan isn’t a real place or people to weebs, it’s a made up land you can make into whatever you want in your mind.

I wasn’t even hating the japs, I was shitting on the people who project themselves onto them because they know Jack shit and just seek validation.

The issue is more that Japan has remained pretty risk adverse after the bubble popped back in the 90s. It's tougher to sell a new concept/IP that isn't guaranteed to make money, than it is to just sell a remake/remaster/retelling or adaptation of an existing IP that is more likely to make money.

What forced hate? Everyone I know is going to Japan on holidays, even non-weebs. And furthermore, what an infantile way to view the world. Japan is a country like any other. There's a lot of good things and a lot of bad things. They have great working conditions but a terrible work culture. They have a fascinating history but a depressing present and future. Anime is a wonderful medium with a lot of potential but it is falling into the same trappings as Hollywood with endless nostalgia shite or terrible isekai LN adapts, and really has been on the decline since the 00s.

There's tons of new mecha shows coming out every year, but they're standard fare, so naturally casual fans don't pay attention to them, because it's not the mecha aspect they (including you) enjoy.
You want something that "deconstructs mecha" and so does everyone else, that's why the shows that did just that are getting revivals/re-imaginings.

Don't these franchises get new shit every few years anyway? They're operating as usual and you're upset that they're doing what they always do? Would you bitch about Braves getting new entries every year in the 90s? Do you get upset whenever Getter gets a new reimagining? Does Precure, Sentai, Kamen Rider and Ultraman existing upset you?
