How do I get into this show? It seems really popular. I dropped it after they started singing Happy Birthday in The Prologue because I thought the writing was so on the nose that it was supposed to be a joke, but then I realized it was supposed to be a serious moment, and I just got disgusted for laughing at it so hard. Does the shows writing at any point get better, or is this whole thing written for adults who can't read above a sixth grade level?

I dropped Code Geass too. I honestly think that maybe the writer is just an idiot, but I want to like it because it is the only Gundam show people in America know of and actually talk about.
