I suppose pacing is harder to manage when you're writing so short-form. I'd say to make it into a proper fic, but that comes with its own host of problems... Still, I say it's a worthwhile experience to at least try to write a chapter out and see how it feels. Maybe the story works better at a different pace, or maybe it doesn't but either way you won't know unless you at least experiment with it, and the early stage is the best time to experiment.

You're not wrong, but sometimes it's worth understand when a piece of feedback is not worth even responding to, let alone responding in kind. If someone doesn't understand the issue with claiming a fan-written story about a character with next-to-no canon characterization is "ooc", then they likely have very little to contribute to your development as a writer. Other than, of course, your own understanding of why that criticism shouldn't apply to your work, but you don't necessarily need to try and explain that to them, it needs only cement itself in your mind to be useful to your project. It'd be nice if they listened and understood, but that is unlikely, and you'd be better off using that time to work on your story instead.

Hopeless, angry and despondent it does sound, anon. However it also sounds like something Octavia might play to give off the atmosphere of something terrible that has happened. It fits a theme of her playing this both alone or in front of hundreds of listeners while going through a state of dejection because maybe her roommate got into an accident and was hurt (or even worse, ate Tavi's last hayburger meaning she has to go to the shops again)
