I liked how the epilogue contrasts the way the show handles Fluttershy and Pinkie's personalities. One can be honest about the bad state of things while appreciating those "few and far between" positives that actual positive anons make happen.

Is it still as good as the highlights of the old show?
At one point, the Mentally advanced series was my obsession, and I was so broken up about it ending that I offered Greg my allowance money for the next year if he just made one more final episode.
He was even gracious enough to respond to my email letting him know that the animation isn't the highlight of the series, but his humor and the stories he writes. (I was a dumb 16 year old.)

I saw the first of these with the gang years later, and Twilight having a kid. It was nice to see these interpretations of the characters again, but it all felt just hollow. Maybe it's just that there wasn't any story to riff on like an episode of the show, or a popular fanfiction. Greg's other original concepts were pretty good though, The super-kid school was fun until he took the three least funny characters and centered a few episodes about them. Dr. Sarkatho PHD was a lot of fun. And I liked watching the Jaycartoons shorts.

I don't know why, but certain things I just get more enjoyment out of a lack of ending than a real one, good or bad. The idea that the story just goes on, and wondering what kinds of adventures would have happened if the stars had just aligned better is a bit comforting.
It's not even about storytelling. I still haven't watched the Brony's React for the finale, and I always stop my re-watches of the series after season 7. (usually planning to go all the way to S9E25, but then remembering how season 8 and 9 are)
