Bonus point from the fact that sheep, chickens and cows are not natural species, but the result of millenia of domestication.
Either they all evolved into sentient beings, but ponies ended up as the dominant species, or the ponies domesticated the cows, sheep, etc.
I'd say the latter is kinda more fucked up, cause it means they purposefully forced the cows and sheep to get wack ass genetic diseases for extra milk/wool. Wild sheep barely make any wool, but the sheep in-show are clearly domesticated breeds.
