Mr. Enter said it was bad

It's a little sloppy with the execution and it makes Rainbow Dash look bad so it must be a bad episode.
>>

Vapid egotists like Dash, Rarity and Twilight getting taken down a peg always makes for good entertainment.

I don't think anyone "hated" it in the same sense as hating Twilicorn, barbies or Creaturequestria.
It just had a dubious morale that you should not be too much proud of your achievements
It is TERRIBLE advice for kids in USA. You MUST be proud of your achievements, moreover, you MUST exaggerate them if you want to achieve anything in life.

>>
>>43074971
Imagine Lord of the Rings, but in the middle of filming the first movie, Peter Jackson was told that they didn't have a budget for the other two movies, so he crammed the entire plot into the last 10 minutes.
Then there was some budget again, but there was no source material, so they made up bullshit on the fly for the next two movies.
Also, someone told the film studio that they should make a parallel story set in an American school because it's popular among US teens, so they made a "Middle-Earth Boys" series with Elrond as the school principal and Sauron as an evil Minister of Education.

Nobody hated MMC just the few hated it for twilicorn which twilicorn was the natural progression so it was just a few retards who hated the episode for its concept

Hasbro defence squad is in the thread as soon as MMC is mentioned.
>>
>>43074961
It was hated for 2 main reasons.
1. Thinking that rainbow dashes behavior was out of character, which is debatable.
2. Thinking that the rest of the main 6’s behavior was motivated by envy, which is debatable.

When a show is airing all the waifufags are playing the long game of "who gets cucked and who survives"
Getting a canon boyfriend is a nuke to the fanbases of characters, look at Flutterfags or Maudfags (Pinkiefags are in a better state because their cuckening came out of nowhere and only in the shitty epilogue)
>>
I hate it for two reasons.
1. The hypocrisy from the Mane 6.
2. The dialogue in this episode has a lack of subtlety that really annoys me. It’s hard to explain.
>>
>>43074961
I don't hate it but it is just a bad version of 28 pranks later. usually it's the later seasons that have bad versions of earlier episodes so this one stands out negatively
>>

This was the first episode I ever watched because it was the latest one to come out at the time. I will never condemn it ever and anyone who does is gay.

Wouldn’t this just be Harry Potter or whatever high school anime that exists? Though LoTR would be a good anime series.
>>
>>43075439
>Wouldn’t this just be Harry Potter or whatever high school anime that exists?
Kind of, but Harry Potter has its own charm because it's a magic school.
Now imagine that it's just a regular school like in EQG.
>Frodo, Sam, Merry, Pippin - elementary school students
>Gimli - midget on steroids
>Legolas - male cheerleader
>Aragorn, Boromir - school football team players
>Gandalf - old teacher
>>

Also Harry Potter was a reference for British high-class schools, not USA.

The hardest truths for this fandom to swallow are as follows:
1. The M6 are only friends out of convenience and necessity.
2. Friendship means jackshit to Twilight beyond advancing her own social status. Hell she forget her old “friend circle” almost immediately.
3. Equestria is not some idyllic, heavenly utopia and (you) and all others would be treated with distrust, disdain and paranoia regardless of how long you live there and how well you try to communicate with the talking horses.

1. false

That itself is how friendship works IRL, how is this a problem?

Except if they just left her to it several ponies would've either died or been severely injured, so it's good that they overreacted and decided to create a pretend superhero, though the mature thing to do would've been to just work with Rainbow Dash.

Episode sucks because it could be executed much better, for example. Rainbow Dash could needlessly risk the lives of other ponies by bragging or carelessly destroy the whole area while saving ponies or mock others for trying to help her or trying to help others.
>>
>>43076006
>Rainbow Dash could needlessly risk the lives of other ponies by bragging
To be fair, she does wait to save Cherry Berry and in fact waits so long that she misses the opportunity to save her. That does sorta prove that Rainbow Dash was being overconfident.

You mean the hot air balloon scene? I don't remember it, except that Rainbow flew into the balloon when MMDW saved Cherry Berry. Did Rainbow Dash make a scared face, as if saying in her head, 'Oh shit! I won't make it in time!'?
>>
>>43076021
>except that Rainbow flew into the balloon when MMDW saved Cherry Berry
Yeah, obviously you can say it's just a gag but it does imply she would've failed if Cherry Berry was still there needing to be saved. The later scenes reinforce this with Rainbow failing to save the cart full of ponies, the majority of the construction workers or stop the dam from breaking.

I meant that if Cherry Berry were still in her place and MMDW hadn't saved her, Rainbow Dash would have still caught her. However, this is irrelevant nitpicking from me since
>The later scenes reinforce this with Rainbow failing to save the cart full of ponies, the majority of the construction workers or stop the dam from breaking.
It is completely true, but I have a problem with these examples since Rainbow Dash couldn't save them because of her lack of strength, skills, and abilities and not because she waited too long or bragged instead of acting. She also didn't say that she's the only one who can and should save other ponies. There could have been a good scene where Rainbow Dash brags about herself, somepony mentions her failures, and RD dismisses them because she can't fathom that she could fail at something. Instead, something else was at fault during those moments etc.
>>
>>43076039
That's fair, I agree that the execution of the episode itself is flawed.

That's just because Rainbow Dash is worst pony, it's not like the other Mane 6 didn't at least try to steer her into the right way, but you can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink.
>>
>>43077120
Gilda went to flight school with Rainbow Cunt. One gryphon is a chef. Prior to the late season rot one can infer ponies are more used to weird chimera abominations or even uglier equines like mules and donkeys. Zecora lives in Everfree and everyone seemed to construct weird hypothesis for her intentions in Ponyville. Its stupid but it kinda makes sense, the kinda logic you expect from dumb horses with the brains of toddlers.

Yes, and those who are bothered by that are delusional dashfags
Some say that this episode teaches you not to be proud of yourself, when the episode itself explicitly differentiates that from bragging.
“Boast Busters” is better in that sense, it teaches you that you shouldn't brag, but at the same time, there are scenarios where you should be proud and put modesty aside, especially when it's for a good cause.
But while you could say that episode better portrays the message, I find it a bit boring (only carried by Trixie), while this one is more entertaining and there's a mystery going on that has a logical explanation at the end.
>>
>>43078448
Hating the episode only because Rainbow Cunt is in it is always justified.
>>
>>43078448
This. People always ignore the Twilight and Pinkie Pie subplot, which is really nicely done and one of the few good things that writers did with Twilight as an alicorn.
>>
>>43078457
Trixie didn't brag, they made her a stage magician so basically the worst possible vessel through which to showcase bragging. She used the mentally infirm's lack of understanding to get them to do chores for her, but she knows her act is a performance and she isn't actually an amazing wizard. Dash actually believes she's the best thing ever.
>>
>>43078527
A boast of a lie is still a boast.
>>
>>43078601
Nopony knew she was lying and nopony challenged Trixie's claims; ponies just all of a sudden hated a free magic show because the episode needed to happen.
>>
>>43078309

>>43078433
>retard doesn't understand what exactly is being criticised

>>43078638
Whether or not it is a lie is irrelevant to the audience's dislike of her ego. The lie was her own self inflicted bad karma.

They literally never did anything except save ponies where Dash either already failed or put off doing so. Nothing they did should have been upsetting to Dash at all.

>She also didn't say that she's the only one who can and should save other ponies.
She literally does exactly that, and that is what explicitly led the rest of the m6 to forming the plan that they did.
>RD dismisses them because she can't fathom that she could fail at something
That's what she does during the cloud scene with herself. She completely dismisses the possibility that anything she's done could be the reason why she's alone, and instead decides that Mare Do Well is to blame for her problems.
Yet more proof that most of the people who say RD wasn't 'that bad' and the rest of the mane 6 are just overreacting didn't actually pay attention to the episode.
>>
>>43078799
>blue cunt's ego being discussed

>>
How does Rainbow Dash have fans? It seems like she's almost always without fail the worst part of nearly every episode she's in.
>>
>>43078852
Choosing a favourite pony is based solely on vibes, which override everything else. If you're basing your pick on some kind of logical assessment of the overall best-presented pony, then not only are you doing it wrong, but you also need not have bothered doing it in the first place, since you're obviously already a Twifag.
>>
>>43078871
>but you also need not have bothered doing it in the first place, since you're obviously already a Twifag.
But I'm an Applefag...
>>
>>43078852
It's very simple, you just have to focus on the few times she's awesome and decide that's what she's really like.
>>
>>43078852
Dash and Trixie having a concerningly high percentage of pride flaggers in their fanbases says it all.
>>
>>43078813
>She literally does exactly that, and that is what explicitly led the rest of the m6 to forming the plan that they did.
I meant that Dash should have said that after MMDW appeared because before that, when Dash said that nopony had the guts to do what she did , she was technically correct since there was no pony before her or during her heroic times who tried to help and save other ponies. She should have said that she should be the only one saving ponies after the MMDW appeared to let the audience know that Rainbow Dash was doing all that for fame and other selfish reasons rather than from the goodness of her heart.
>>
>>43078935
>She should have said that she should be the only one saving ponies after the MMDW appeared to let the audience know that Rainbow Dash was doing all that for fame and other selfish reasons rather than from the goodness of her heart.
But isn't that already pretty discernible from the way she reacts to Mare do Well with hostility when she's not the one getting praise anymore? It's been a pattern of behavior from her ever since season 1, I don't think the audience should really need it to be spelt out for them like that.
>>
I don't get how people get mad at Dashie just for saying stuff like she's the coolest. It's not like she is claiming to be the best fashion designer or animal caretaker or shitposter, and she certainly doesn't shit talk others like you lot.
>>
>>43078970
If we're scoring it by the amount of rage she kicks up just by existing, then Dash is absolutely the best shitposter.
>>
>>43078970
>just for saying stuff like she's the coolest
Because she's a bitch to everyone and incredibly stupid. That plus being a braggart makes her insufferable even if she is indeed very fast and talented.
>>
>>43078601
That's not true, it's a performance act like professional wrestling, where the actors playing wrestlers brag about how tough and macho they are, while not actually being real fighters.

Using a performance artist during her actual act to be an example of bragging is exactly as stupid.

I think they just liked the concept of the magician and a stage magic show in Equestria, and didn't care as much because they thought it was for small children who wouldn't yet understand things like actors not actually being the characters they portray.
>>
>>43079000
>Using a performance artist during her actual act to be an example of bragging is exactly as stupid.
This is why they have Snips and Snails doing favors for Trixie in exchange for hearing about her amazing abilities so that you know it's not just her on-the-job persona.
>>
>>43079009
Well because of that, how it's done, it seems more like she's staying in character to exploit the moron kids. Which slightly changes the angle. If you can imagine The Rock or something realizing a fan is "special" and continuing to play "The Rock" so they'll do favors for him. It's more like manipulative opportunist behaviors.

Rainbow Dash in this episode displayed a less murky example of bragging, since for half of Trixie's episode she's an actor playing a role for a performance, whereas Rainbow Dash isn't acting.
>>
>>43079000
The "act" doesn't translate neatly. What's the point of an illusionist in a world where real magic exists? From the ponies' perspective they believe what Trixie is telling them is the truth because mages exist in the world. Mages CAN do real magic without any of the smoke and mirrors that a performance act would entail. In our world we know that the performance artist is just doing an act because we know magic isn't real. It's a really awkward situation that the writers failed to see the implications of.
>>
>>43074961
Because dashfags can't handle when Rainbow's flaws are actually treated as flaws instead of personality quirks.
For all the talk you see of 'flaws make the character more interesting!' most of those people will do a complete 180 the moment those flaws start to have actual substance to them. This episode being a chief example of exactly that.
>>
>>43079173
I feel like if the show let the characters actually learn from their failures people wouldn't mind it as much. Rainbow Dash should've had an arc where she learned to be less of a cunt, instead she's permanently stuck doing the same thing over and over forever.
>>
>>43079177
A lot of Twifags disliked when Twilight learned to stop being a snarky cunt. There's no winning, people will bitch about anything.
>>
>>43079182
True.
>>
>>43079177
But the thing is people like it when she acts like a cunt, they just don't like when there's consequences for it. The problem is sort of the opposite. They didn't want her to develop in the first place, that's why Dash episodes like Testing 1,2,3 are so much more popular and considered her 'best',
>>
>>43079182
>>43079184
Not a Twifag, but I don't think Twilight was ever really a cunt. She's pretty polite even in the earliest episodes. I don't think Twifags wish for her to be meaner, I think they just prefer when she had SOME sarcastic bite like in Bridal Gossip instead of just being a neurotic princess.
>>
>>43079185
To be fair the show's very inconsistent with her cuntiness. She's self-aware enough to immediately accept criticism in Griffon the Brush-Off and Boast Busters, yet the episode immediately after those two is Dragonshy where she's being basically the soft antagonist of the episode and doesn't admit fault even at the very end.
>>
>>43074971
Too much singing, the solution to the problem wasn't much different than the solution for Discord's brainwashing, finishing someone else's spell doesn't feel like a good enough reason to ascend to horse godhood, Twi gets the ultimate special treatment over the rest of the Mane Six, ending feels a bit too soon and very abrupt considering how short that season was.
>>
>>43077120
The worst example has to be dragons. Their can go from fellow person, to untermench, to absolute terror one should not approach, sometimes even in the same episode.
>>
>>43077225
It's not dumb toddler logic at all when there's historical records of cultural misunderstandings and fear of unknowns. Griffons compete in the Equestria games, and their kingdom connects by railway. Zebras on the other hand are so far away and mysterious that Twilight only heard of them in a book of dubious nature. It was said somewhere that Zecora pawing the ground is a nervous or threatening gesture in horse language, but normal foraging behavior for zebras.
>>
>>43079185
>But the thing is people like it when she acts like a cunt
Dashfags are not people.
>>
>>43079024
Real humans can fight but people still buy tickets to see WrestleMania. It's to do with the showmanship, that's how I read it. She makes money from this doing basic tricks because people enjoy the act of Trixie, her bravado and all the rest is what they pay to see.

It's a better episode than Mysterious Mare Do Well, but in terms of the message I would choose Mysterious Mare Do Well to be an episode more clearly about bragging.
>>
>>43079836
I don't hate either episode, but I think they could work well switched. Boast Busters is odd in that it warps Trixie's underlying lesson about the pitfalls of dishonestly overselling your abilities around Twilight's self esteem issues and the need to stand up for her friends. Element of loyalty, hello? Give Rainbow a reason to suddenly have self esteem issues at the start of the story and something she can challenge Trixie on, and it makes a better lesson for Rainbow. Trixie could then logically jump from caped magician to caped hero in MMDW in order to regain the audience she lost.

BB: "I was so afraid of being thought of as a show-off that I was hiding a part of who I am. My friends helped me realize that it's okay to be proud of your talents, and there are times when it's appropriate to show them off... Especially when you're standing up for your friends."
MMDW: "it's great to be really good at something, but it's important to act with grace and humility."
>>
>>43074971
I hate it because of how abrupt and unexpected it was. When i first say it i was having a good time enjoying the episode then boom, hey you're an alicorn now because you really really deserve it! Excuse me? Wtf did she do in this episode to deserve becoming an alicorn. If it was meant to be the end of the show it would have been the worst ending of any show i have ever watched
>>
>>43079907
That would be good. I think what I would do is have Spike be the one obsessed with Trixie and doing stuff for her instead of Snips and Snails, so Twilight can own her at magic to stick up for Spike being exploited, rather than anything related to what happened during the show where her friends were hecklers acting out of line.

More like a person being less scared of a st. bernard than a sasquatch to me. It's also not like all ponies are shown to always have this automatic fear of zebras anyway. Zecora had the misfortune of being labeled a witch, and Apple Bloom didn't believe it.
>>

>Zecora had the misfortune of being labeled a witch
Which was nonsensical in the first place because she is basically just another pony but with stripes. It's not like the ponies are all the same shade of color either, they're already used to diversity and multicoloreds already exist like Pip. The racism was forced as fuck.

They didn't call her that because she had stripes Anon, they called her that because she lives in the Everfree Forest.

Rarity was afraid and disgusted by zecora because of her stripes.

The stripes still play a part in othering her. Despite having freckles and splotches, stripes like that are unnatural to ponies. It isn't one thing that led to the rumors about Zecora.

If it were any other show the character in question would be written to be either a nuisance main character, a one-off side-character or an antagonist. To me RD is often the MLP equivalent of Bloo from Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, only somewhat less worse than he is. Both are braggarts, lazy and often display copious amounts of disloyalty to their friends. Bloo is worse but RD sometimes gets on that level. It really doesn't help that Ashleigh Ball was told to sound like an obnoxious little boy for RD, whereas Bloo just sounds like a somewhat mild-mannered teenager. If Rainbow was a villain or side NPC in the show, people would just laugh it off but she does the whole "I'm cooler or awesomer" thing in all of her appearances.

It's just kinda mean-spirited and unpleasant. Dash is actually not bad at all in the episode, very much in character, it's the other ponies that are uncharacteristically mean towards her. This premise was executed much better in 28 Pranks Later, because Dash was actually legit out of control in that episode and needed a taste of her own medicine, and it's just an overall fun episode.

It's not often I praise something from S6 over S2, but even the classics aren't above scrutiny.
>>
>>43075365
I think that's mainly a s8-9 problem. s6 is an improved s2 in my opinion.
28PL > MMDW
ELTSD > LZ
Gaunlet of Fire > Dragon Quest
PPOV > MMMystery
Hearth's Warming Tail >>>> Hearth's Warming Eve
Maybe it's just s6 that's really great. The way I see it s5 is a successor to s1 and s6 is a successor to s2.
>>
>>43083023
28 Pranks Later is even worse, Dash actually IS a problem but she's completely out of character to the point of just straight up bullying random people by putting bricks in their sandwiches. Back then, we feared that this rushed finale was the end of the show, and that it would be replaced with Equestria Girls, which likely was a possibility at one point. It made everyone turn on the show and view season 3 less favorably than it deserved, if you ask me. Most episodes from S3 are pretty good, with a handful of greats.

Looking back now, the Magical Mystery Cure just feels rushed and uncanny, it comes completely out of nowhere and Twilight's ascension to princesshood doesn't come across as a natural progression. She should have become a princess in the season 5 finale instead. Magical Mystery Cure's plot also falls apart completely with even a cursory examination.

Great songs though. Also, Rarity has a wet mane at one point in it, so it's an automatic 8/10 for that alone.

>putting bricks in their sandwiches.
I don't really have a problem with this. It's a cartoon, so things like this, which would be unacceptable in the real world, work because of cartoon logic, similar to Twilight having a piano fall on her head in Feeling Pinkie Keen. 28 Pranks Later has Dash acting like an out of control menace, but I don't really see how it's out of character. She is consistently impulsive and pig-headed to a fault throughout nine seasons.

Ehhh S3 is so terrible that I'd place it among S8 and S9. I absolutely hate what McCarthy did to Twilight, Trixie, and Discord. Aside from MMC, all McCarthy does is pander to bronies and jump the shark, her work is soulless.

>ELTSD > LZ
No.

>Hearth's Warming Tail >>>> Hearth's Warming Eve
Good lord, no. HWT is a good episode, great songs, great atmosphere, but at the end of the day it's just a run-of-the-mill and rushed Christmas Carol adaptation. HWE, on the other hoof, is about as classic as it gets, S2's answer to The Cutiemark Chronicles, an episode not just great in its own right, but one that adds to the entire show with epic world-building.
>>
>>43083087
>Twilight
MMC was kinda botched, yes.

>Trixie
I dunno, I thought The Magic Duel was pretty great.

>Discord
KCAFO is a clumsily written episode that I like probably a lot more than it technically deserves. It's a fun episode, but it has a lot of baggy, exposition-heavy writing early on. I get that some people prefer Discord as a straight villain, but I do like him as an anti-hero side-character, and he plays off the cast really well, especially Fluttershy.
>>
>>43083092
I disagree. s6 executes these episodes so much better and has better lessons and character development. All HWE has is the lorefagging and tribes uniting isn't even a unique concept so it wasn't anywhere near "epic" for me, though I'm my case I've been exposed to hundreds of fantasy worlds so my standards are higher than average I suppose.

>It's a cartoon, so things like this, which would be unacceptable in the real world, work because of cartoon logic
You mean like how she didn't prank Fluttershy in Griffon the Brush-Off? And then did it anyway in 28 Pranks Later?
Yeah it's just a cartoon logic issue bro the characters are EXACTLY the same!!!
>>
>>43083145
Context is important, she didn't prank Fluttershy at first only because of Pinkie's discretion. Pranking Fluttershy is something Dash always wanted to do. Notice how Dash takes it easy on Pinkie when she pranked her, Dash lowkey respects Pinkie a lot. She couldn't even bear to tell Pinkie she hates her pies.
>>
>>43083145
>You mean like how she didn't prank Fluttershy in Griffon the Brush-Off?
That was only because Pinkie was there and shut her down. Dash only agreed reluctantly. She is very consistent in pushing Fluttershy outside of her comfort zone, for better (pic related) and for worse (28 Pranks Later).

We should've got DashPie...

LZ is kind of a personal episode for me, since it's one of the most accurate depictions of OCD in popular media, but it also works better than ELTSD. Twilight's downward spiral into insanity is seamless and in character, very true to life, even when she causes a riot over a doll. Starlight in ELTSD is just unhinged from the word go, thinking mind control is an effective way of making friends. I like the episode alright, and one can argue it makes sense for a reformed cult leader to simply default to mind control, but it's not exactly true to life or seamless like LZ.

We're just gonna have to agree to disagree on the Hearth's Warming episodes. If you don't care for the world-building, I can't really argue that, but as someone who loves Dickens' Christmas Carol, HWT doesn't exactly move me to tears like Michael Caine kneeling over his grave in the Muppets version. The songs are great, the aesthetics are great, the atmosphere is great, but the episode is just too rushed for me, and we really didn't need another Christmas Carol adaptation. It's entertaining, but doesn't really add much.

The first thing Rainbow did in MMDW is carelessly toss a baby, and her careless ego feeding got worse as time went on. It was becoming a danger to others and herself in addition to being annoying. 28PL is a fun episode, but a gutted MMDW, because the moral lessons aren't the same at all.

Guess that's Pinkie and Weird Al's place then.

It's just zoomer opinion. Reminder that the target audience LOVED the later seasons, in fact most people outside of this place do.

not really, the only problem with that episode is that every prank but the first one is actually hilarious. pranking Fluttershy should have been the thing that makes everyone want to teach Dashie a lesson instead
>>
>>43083488
Fans were scared that Heartstrings would overwrite Lyra as her official name. Same with Lulamoon being Trixies toy name due to the toy side's disconnect from the show. Hasbro was quick to follow fan example and mash the names for both ponies together into a first and last name scheme.

Seasons 4-7 yes, I too would argue 4 and 5 are just as good as the early seasons, but aren't 8-9 universally considered the weakest by everyone?
>>
>>43083610
No, kids loved the Bad Trio or whatever the fuck they were called getting stoned because it subverted expectations. Because they're kids, and their taste is abysmal. I still look back fondly yet also cringe at material I liked in my youth.

Ah yes, the classic-
>"Dash actually isn't that bad but the others doing the same thing are mean and terrible."

I'm too tired to argue about ponies right now, so no better time than the present to shill one of my favorite pony creators:

I echo Jesse's perspective on this one. Dash is cool and she always was.

it good episode

Shit take. Dash is shit and her fans have goddawful taste. Imagine having to project your character's flaws onto everyone else for them to not be awful.

You people don't deserve this show.

HWE stated things which spawned more questions than it tried to answer. That is not very good worldbuilding.
It's still fun episode and definitely enjoyable one. I like how that one anon said not too long ago that fandom of this show can roughly be split into two groups, ponderers and enjoyers. First have deep passion as in good and bad, want things to be coherent and meaningful. Latter just simply enjoys the show for what it is.

>>43084149
It was always a mystery where and when Celestia and Luna and Cadence fit into the history of Equestria. But that's all it was, a mystery. Filling in the blanks used to be the meat and potatoes of this fandom. When we don't have that, you get stupid g5 lore "fixes" like Skyros.

Kinda gay to diss any lore while propping up a fictional retelling that adds little to nothing. How many fanfics mention Princess Platinum compared to Starfall Frost?
>>
>>43084245
If you think I'm propping up that tired trope of retelling the Christmas Carol, you got wrong anon here. But since you mentioned princess peetzer butt, her addition was origination point which caused the shit like
>skyros
Seems like few people anymore remember the alicorn lore/fanon pre-ACW, and how differently people thought about even random alicorn oc's back then.
>>
>>43084287
I remember how dumb it was. All powerful alien cosmic gods that didn't act like alien cosmic gods at all in the show. They completely ignored that the canon term used was winged unicorn and invented the term alicorn because winged unicorn didn't convey their unique aloof god status well enough. Then fans threw a fit because Cupid can't exist in a world they think was literally created by Helios and Artemis for some reason. Unicorns ascended with powerful magic was fine enough explanation without needing to give them a racial homeland.

>from somewhere a fucking solar goddess arrives idk
A society that suddenly got prosperous attracted crooks. Some of these crooks eventually installed themselves as rulers and wrote themselves grandiose backstories. Isn't it how all "great" empires begin?
The missing piece is how and why the tale survived. Many would expect Celestia and Luna to want to be the only known source of peace. Commoners solve their problems on their own, by talking to each other? No way, can't have that.
>>
>>43084350
>canon term used was winged unicorn
I can't take you as good faith with claims like this. Show me episodes and time stamps where winged unicorn was used before magic duel used the term alicorn for the first time.

18 and 44 seconds into the very first episode my man, and again in A Canterlot Wedding
https://poneponepone.org/?search=cadance&scroll_to=3

Though I admit I do misremembered them ever specifying winged, which is an obvious and not entirely wrong descriptor by fans. My point being they were simply unicorns until fanon changed it.
>>
>>43084479
And apparently there were mentions of pegacorns in the internal notes of the show staff.
So if we go purely by the scripture, guess unicorns really were the chosen tribe after all, since it's all about unicorns here, unicorns there. With Celestia it at least refers to her unicorn power where Luna is just completely an unicorn. Fuck pegasi and especially fuck the mudders lmao.

Fuck Dashie

>HWE stated things which spawned more questions than it tried to answer. That is not very good worldbuilding.
I disagree. Leaving things up to the viewer's imagination is a good thing. One of the common criticisms of the later seasons is their tendency to kill a lot of the mystery from the earlier seasons, which I largely agree with. The mythology from HWE is also diegetic, so it has the element of the unreliable narrator.

Faust left because of MMDW. Nobody knows this, but it is true.
