If I remember correctly that viewer has an interesting feature that makes the view actually follow the pony's head. So now I wonder if the horse searching HUD would make her turn her head AND you'd see the stream view move accordingly.

It's probably a bad idea for the stream (since probably most people prefer a more static view) but the question if this would ACTUALLY work is not leaving my head now.

Back when I was using SL before pony happened (occasionally) I absolutely hated indoor locations with many avatars in them.
I always just stood outside like some awkward nerd.
Now with pony I have absolutely no issue standing indoors like an awkward pony nerd.

I can't get over the occasional sniper mode zooms. Definitely one of the best features of Cinemare.

Cinemare's wrangler here, it's Firestorm, and literally just right click plus scroll wheel when in mouselook. I've used it for actual combat aiming as well, though it can be a bit rough if your mouse sensitivity is high. (mine is abnormally high according to several of my peers)

I think some 3D artists did manage to translate the G4 style pretty convincingly. It's just that a lot of trickery is needed to get all the angles to look right in the 3D model.
Also, keep in mind that that AI video isn't actually 3D. There's no 3D model that you can export and look at in different angles. It's just many 2D frames being generated by a neural network. It can afford to "cheat" a lot to make every angle look good.

All those 90s cartoon guys, of which Lauren is one, understood that you could get away from a strict representation of form if it meant something stylish, cute, cool, whatever. The most memorable stuff from that era is all lines of action and striking silhouettes. I remember Genndy said that when he joined the team for the first Hotel Transylvania, he had to teach everyone else how to do proper cartoons, because they were just slavishly trying to simulate reality at the time.
That's why people have so much difficulty translating pony to 3D: it's a style that was never made to exist in anything but 2D.
