didn't know anyone then that carried a PSP, a disc man AND an ipod. Aside from the redundancy of the discman and ipod anyone I knew with a PSP when it dropped used it for everything from music to watching porn and South Park

Anyone have recommendations for music that sounds like being a child and watching this?

Yeah that aesthetic was boring back in the days.. I think they were taking pictures of something natural and giving them this technologised/electro look that zoomies today think it was so sovlfvl
Gives me flashbacks to Aphex Twin, Ronie Size, Indian Ropeman, FSOL, Prodigy, 808 State, Leftfield, Orbital, Pendulum, Bomfunk MC's, Apollo 440, Talvin Singh, Kid Koala, Jam&Spoon, Goldie and playing Tomb Rider on a CRT monitor on my Pentium III shitbox

Took a long time until the PSP started getting good games.
Disidia 012 Final Fantasy, the GTA "stories" games, kingdom hearts, Ratchet and Clank, Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker, etc
It was an emulator that people were making PS2 games on.

Weirds me out that the dude in this bands last name is Epstein, has playlists on his personal Spotify account “for Jeff”, and his icon on his insta account has a slightly sus looking swirl. Maybe I’m too conspiracy brained now that the files have been coming out.
The music is milquetoast, I like a few songs.

The 80s were all around better than the 90s and definitely the 00s. But most of the faggots currently on 4chan were too young to remember the 80s or weren’t even born then. Hence why they consider the 90s to be the greatest time ever. When if you turned 18 in that decade, you’ll realise it really wasn’t.

I didn't live through the 80s but I still think they were the greatest decade for popular music, if we think of the incredible genre innovation in that decade.
I don't care that there was a lot of shallow (p)optimism and ridiculous spandex rock, there was also a whole lot of experimentation and blending of genres that created really unique styles
Like Art of Noise or Depeche Mode or Pixies or REM or Siouxsie and PIL. Or Sugarcubes. Really, the 80s beat any other decade in terms of novelty/time unit

the 80s were great, the 90s were a reaction against 80s excess and greed, and was also great.
the 2000s is only retroactively great because of how shit the 2010s were.
I was a kid in the 2000s and i remember hating it because i was told how great the 90s were and how i never experienced nirvana, and grunge, and alt rock, and like as a kid the only rock bands you got in the 2000s was fucking limp bizket and creed, just total butt rock garbage.
then the 2010s happened, rock just straight up dies, music gets whittled down to pop and pop rap, maybe some electronic music, but its now called edm and its generic bro dude garbage like skrillex whose audience would have been listening to korn had they been born a decade earlier. And then there was the rise of wokeness and liberals turning into micro managing moral police who want to control everything you do and say, and culture became flat and stale and boring.
the only good thing about the 2010s was when trump won, it was hilarious, the first time in the 2010s i felt like this woke shit would end, liberals had thought they had won forever so they went mask off, but that was over.
2020s has been a bland nothingness, pop rap died, now we are left with country music and white girl pop sluts who think hating men and acting like a slut while singing over a retro 80s instrumental is some ground breaking shit, like maddona wasnt doing that 100 years ago

Early 00s was kino, the bad side was in the much later 00s. It was truly over when the 10s hit.

Y2K was awesome. Discovered Sleep Terror because a friend of mine linked me Luke Jaeger's MySpace page and listened to Probing Tranquility a lot. Only spergy nerds without friends hated the 2000's.

Yeah but there's a difference between Black Crows doing a Stones larp in the 90s and Nirvana having some slight 80s influences but coming up with a new sound overall.
The whole idea behind these tunes is sounding like that cool thing from the past, with some extra 'updated' layering. It's like simulating the past with new tools. Pastiche

it is funny all these zoomers who weren't alive or barely sentient pining for a time they weren't even culturally there for. in their heads they think if they were (current age) in 2004 they would have been on the cutting edge, despite all their opinions and taste coming from tik-toks with millions of views on things like vidya, music, film.
nigga you wouldn't be "alt." you'd be wearing quick silver and aeropstale polos, watching cable TV, listening to radio charts, making terrorist jokes and most importantly not on the internet.

What is it with people making nostalgia bait music for a time they never lived in, you get people born in the mid-to-late 80s making synthwave slop, mid-to-late 90s making 90s nostalgia music, and people born in the mid-to-late 00s making y2kslop
