I do buy vinyl, usually in Bulk. I keep an eye on marketplace and whenever someone sells a bunch of records from their dead relatives or whatever I pick some up. You get to listen to a lot of interesting music like that.

This. If I'm listening to music then I'm doing it on some digital format on my phone or pc or whatever, and that means I've just downloaded the flacs somewhere. If I'm buying music then I'm doing it to support the artist but I'm not handing out money unless I get something physical and vinyls simply look better than cds.

I've been buying vinyl since I was 10 years old when it was a totally dead format in the 2000s, a bit like CDs now but actually maybe even worse since nobody believed there would be a vinyl revival which meant they were pretty cheap to pick up second hand. Even boomers were shocked to see me buying vinyls because most people didn't have vinyl players anymore
I can honestly put my hand on my heart and say with absolute certainty that you do not really love music if you do not collect vinyl. I don't buy vinyl because it looks cool, I buy it because I love music. It has more substance when you can feel the record in your hand, the experience has more depth when you take it out of the sleeve and place it on the player. I feel good knowing that my favourite albums aren't just abstract things that live in the ether, they are real and I have all of them and some of them i've had since I was a kid and some were even my parents when they were young. Its about giving as much appreciation and dedication to an album as the artist themselves when they made it.
A lot of people today won't understand that anything that is worthwhile takes time and effort. The reason why our society today is so soulless and hollow is because people traded experience for convenience.
