I didn't hate cracker island but I did think it was the kinda album where it had two duds for every good track, so it's nice to go back to something that's actually consistently good

the british romanticization is a holdover from the empire days when the white man held a civilized grip over india so only its best qualities came forth, from the beatles to damon there was an orientalist fetishization which is slowly fading away as the younger generations realize what an india without the white man's guideship has become.

I enjoyed this album much more than I expected. The Shadowy Light is probably my favourite track.

I wouldn't go so far to say it's "offensive" but there's something tacky about all these dead guys being given featuring credits for basically just unused takes on songs they already recorded decades ago. It just makes me think of the original songs they were lifted from more than anything else. Especially Dennis Hopper cause I've heard Fire Coming Out of the Monkey's Head a billion times. I know not everyone had a random freestyle lying around in their archives but I think it's the kind of thing where restraint would have gone a long way.

Not really. The quality of this album drops for every verse sang in the hindi """language""". Somehow I still like the album though

Have you considered that it's homage kino and thematically in line with the project in general though
